Today I want gold stars -- I took the cat to the vet - onerous task number one and yes he was a pain in neck but I seem to have gotten over my fear of vet ( too many sick cats)

and then I called the neighbor who wants us to do something about my tree. _onerous task number two - It turns out he is actually quite reasonable he just has concerns about the age of the tree - and where it is , so we are going to get an arborist to look at it - which is quite ok. But I had to be brave.

Enormous amounts of good wishes to Drew's mom, java for her surgery, Deena for her recovery, and Sass' humans for her return.

I had bloodwork this AM. You know, I have this thing where I make the medical or legal or accounting people laugh, they see me as a person, we both relax, and communication is better.

Tech this morning could not relax. Complimented me on my accidental nail polish shade (wasn't in the mood for Cozu-melted from the sun, slapped a coat of Jaguar over it--better than either alone), but she must have tapped on my inner elbow for nearly ten minutes before I finally told her, "We usually go, left arm, no vein, right arm, no vein, back of the left hand."

"You want to skip right to the hand?"

"Let's."

When the vial started to fill she heaved a sigh. "That one was 50/50." The vein swelled when she pulled out, it hurt like fury and bruised. I'ma go back to the woman at the usual place who, when I told her "left arm, right arm, hand," went "Pffft," and got my left elbow perfect first stick, and every stick thereafter. I like her. I shall camp on her doorstep when I must be stuck.

I like her.

Sick Update: Almost no voice with ongoing fever. Staying home tomorrow after three hours to put sub plans together today. (Insert rant about yet another thing people don't get about teaching.) Not answering the phone because no one needs to hear this. Please send soup. Or husband, who's been stuck in Florida for forever.

In non meme news, I wish health and healing to Deena, Java, and (of course) my MiL. I also reposted the Sass vid and will keep doing so.
