I have done dishes, gone out for brunch, gone to Ikea to buy hangers AND ONLY BOUGHT HANGERS, and washed off and replaced all the furniture and plants in the backyard, which took a solid two hours. It now looks great and we are both wiped out. Now to use my new hangers to try to reorganize my clothing storage.

Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Wow, i just found out that Fred Meyers (our local mondo store) has a "free fuschia" event next Saturday where you bring in empty planters and they fill them with dirt and flowers. ZOMG. Gonna have to take my lunch at the beginning of my day so i can hit the beginning with some of my boring empty pots! I am worried about the crowds....but free potting soil and pretty flowers? Can't turn that down.
I worked an hour and a half. Now to get some dinner.
Belated hooray awesomecakes for Kathy!
Congratulations Hil!
The squirrel wars have started here. We planted some early things, and then went in for dinner, which is had in a room with a window overlooking the planting beds. So we had a front row seat for the descent of the valkyrie squirrels. I went outside and they scattered, except for one, who vaulted over the fence and clung to a rail peeking over, like he was superbadsquirrel and also invisible. Smarty McSquirrelypants.
DH is headed back to the dr to see whether he's got a slipped disk. Here's hoping that's all it is.
Hey crafty/arty folks among us...I'm seeking an opinion on markers for coloring. Bic vs. Sharpie vs. Crayola.
Any favorites?
I've found these gorgeous, intricate books of abstract and esoteric designs and am going to try markers over crayons.
One book I'm ordering even features vampires! Another is Victorian houses.
Neat!
It's a bit of an investment, and I'm not sure which markers would be higher quality.
Happy birthday, Tom!
Congratulations, Hil!
Now that I know that I've got a job in September, but that I probably don't have a job during the summer, I'm thinking about taking a week or two to travel somewhere. I'm just not sure where. Any suggestions? Places with a beach are a definite plus.
gone to Ikea to buy hangers AND ONLY BOUGHT HANGERS
Wow, that's impressive!!
I went to the library (owed $23 in fines!! I think of it as supporting my library), got a pedicure, got a massage, and spent way too much money at Whole Foods on whatever caught my eye--I mean, there's no reason for me to buy produce there when it's cheaper at TJ's and I go there all the time, but...it looked so pretty! I am excited about the chaat mix I got, which I just had a handful of and it was yummy.
Sometimes i just have to relegate myself to paying "rental fees" to the library. I hate returning books late, but sometimes when you have a 31-disc audio book and there are holds and you can't renew it....yeah, i do my part too ;)
I went to the beach for a few hours today. Then went and visted my grandmother and aunt.
Congrats Hil!!
I need to go to the library and return stuff AND also dump off a bunch of books I don't want any more.
I also realized that I'd been thinking in terms of getting to St Albans as going to Charleston and then it taking 2 days from there. Which it can, but it's a 10 hour drive and then a 9 hour. I'm not sure how the cats will do. And if Mom is going to go with me we'll probably need to break it up to three days. I still need to pack more. At least I decided I'm not taking a couch up at this time, just 2 recliners, one I'm getting from my aunt and she doesn't want it back.
