'Out Of Gas'

Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Seska, your happy post is making me smile.

I went to the pharmacy, picked up my ADs and smokes, and am now installed at an outside table with herbal tea and a maple cupcake. I'd like to work for an hour before getting dinner.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

Today is full of fail. It's 78º, my apartment is hot and I have a sinus headache. Bah!

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Erin, I'm sorry Mal's causing pain for no good reason.

Sounds like a lovely wedding, Seska.

It's great to hear about everybody's productive day. So far I've gone grocery shopping, picked up a few plants at the botanical garden, discovered a fresh luna moth drying its wings [link] finished some stuff for my spring altar, and planted the new plants. I suspect that's the end of today's productivity.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I have done dishes, gone out for brunch, gone to Ikea to buy hangers AND ONLY BOUGHT HANGERS, and washed off and replaced all the furniture and plants in the backyard, which took a solid two hours. It now looks great and we are both wiped out. Now to use my new hangers to try to reorganize my clothing storage.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

Wow, i just found out that Fred Meyers (our local mondo store) has a "free fuschia" event next Saturday where you bring in empty planters and they fill them with dirt and flowers. ZOMG. Gonna have to take my lunch at the beginning of my day so i can hit the beginning with some of my boring empty pots! I am worried about the crowds....but free potting soil and pretty flowers? Can't turn that down.

not your mom's socks.

Belated hooray awesomecakes for Kathy!

Congratulations Hil!

The squirrel wars have started here. We planted some early things, and then went in for dinner, which is had in a room with a window overlooking the planting beds. So we had a front row seat for the descent of the valkyrie squirrels. I went outside and they scattered, except for one, who vaulted over the fence and clung to a rail peeking over, like he was superbadsquirrel and also invisible. Smarty McSquirrelypants.

DH is headed back to the dr to see whether he's got a slipped disk. Here's hoping that's all it is.

Compassionately intolerant

Hey crafty/arty folks among us...I'm seeking an opinion on markers for coloring. Bic vs. Sharpie vs. Crayola.

Any favorites?

I've found these gorgeous, intricate books of abstract and esoteric designs and am going to try markers over crayons.

One book I'm ordering even features vampires! Another is Victorian houses.

Neat!

It's a bit of an investment, and I'm not sure which markers would be higher quality.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Happy birthday, Tom!

Congratulations, Hil!

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Now that I know that I've got a job in September, but that I probably don't have a job during the summer, I'm thinking about taking a week or two to travel somewhere. I'm just not sure where. Any suggestions? Places with a beach are a definite plus.
