How did things go at the doctor's today, Trudy?
Pretty well, thank you! The stitches are out and tomorrow I bathe! The swelling is down nicely. I'm in the surgical gladiator-style shoes for one more week and then I get to start wearing sneakers.
The doc agrees with using a cane for a while as much for keeping people from getting too close to my feet and getting seats on the subway as for the support. They will tire easily for a while yet and sitting is something I'll want to do frequently.
Laura, I am SO relieved to hear about your mother!
I'm glad you are recouperating well, Trudy.
And Laura, I am so glad that the word on your mom is all treatable.
Laura, good to hear the positive news for your mom.

Be prepared to weaponize it. A few weeks with my dad showed me that some people are not exactly aware of mobility challenges. Or they are horrible people. I try to give the benefit of the doubt.
I think i may skip my tradition post-work workout session today. First day of new (4 hrs later) shift and i am soooo ready to flop into bed. Also, spent an hr shoveling and raking dirt this morning so that counts as my physical exertion for the day, yes?
Sword cane it is!
Pfft. Sword canes are almost expected these days. You really wanna catch them offguard? Flail cane.
The smonster has landed, repeat, the smonster has landed. And is waiting for her bag of tools.
Glad you're healing well, Trudy.
Good that it's treatable, Laura. Best thoughts for your mom.
Gah. Tired.
