'Heart Of Gold'

Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

I seem to have lost amyth's current address. Could someone who has it please email it to me? Profile address is good. Thank you!

Burrell, I really loved that Emily Dickinson poem you posted. I haven't read much Dickinson, but after visiting her home in Amherst a couple of years ago, I'm much more interested in her poetry and I'd like to read more of it.

Maria, I hope you got some good rest last night. We're all keeping you in our thoughts.

Seska, that's such a hard situation for Sharon, and for you. I hope her dad is able to come to the wedding. It's coming up soon, right?

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Insent, Kate.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Sending out the ~ma for The Girl's father, Seska. I hope he can be at your wedding, too.

I wish there was some way to repay you for the love and friendship you've shown.

But that's the beauty of this place. There is no need. And if for some crazy reason, you are worried about it, I can tell you that the support that you have showed me personally when I lost my dad and the subsequent mom drama more than makes up for it ;)

Also, watch Shane walk, it will make you smile. That kid is a smile magnet, he always pulls one out of me.

Walking Shanie! That new-walker wobbly swagger is the best.

I'm...really no good at posting words of comfort. I'm very glad that other people here are.

Walking Shanie is the cutest thing ever! Thanks for posting those, GC.

I found out they decided to have a memorial for D after all. Unfortunately it's tomorrow at the same time that I had a doctors appointment that it took me three months to get. So, I'm not going, but I'm feeling awful about not going. They're also saying they found him dead of an apparent heart attack, no mention of the suicide.

In better news, my appointment with the nutritionist went well yesterday. She didn't chastise me about anything, which I was worried about. For now she wants me to have 3 meals a day and two snacks. The snacks shouldn't have more than 170 calories and every meal and snack needs to have a minimum of 5 grams of protein in them. No other restrictions so far.

sj, nuts are a great snack, and fit the protein requirement. I buy them at Trader Joes, you can get a huge bag of almonds or cashews for $5 or less. If you get bored with the taste, you can always add spices to switch it up to sweet or salty.

Trader Joes also has the almonds prepacked into snack size for only a little more per ounce.

Trader Joes sells nitrate free low fat lunchmeants (roast beef, pastrami, ham, turkey). Not cheap though some of them are actually no pricer than regular lunch meats. Put them on crackers. Or put them on bread for lunch :)
