Yes, it's terribly simple. The good guys are always stalwart and true, the bad guys are easily distinguished by their pointy horns or black hats, and, uh, we always defeat them and save the day. No one ever dies, and everybody lives happily ever after.

Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

{{bonny & B-boy}} Insent, bonny.

I had yesterday off as a random University holiday, and used part of the day to check on pre-school applications. K is going to start in August at one of our top choices and I cannot tell you how huge this is - we'll save over 1K a month in expenses, I can go to yoga again, and the DH and I no longer have to stagger our working hours.

She's going to be one of only two children admitted that didn't already have a sibling at the school, and it absolutely wouldn't have happened if I hadn't gone in yesterday.

Ann, that's a ferret.

We thought the eye problems were over at our house. But now it's Seamus's turn. Ever tried to restrain a terrified 15-pound orange cat?

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Man, I just ate half a custard-filled paczki (actually, "paczki" is the plural; "poncek" is the singular, but it will NEVER catch on t /Sheldon ), and I am zipping around on a sugar buzz. I should have pre-loaded with bacon or something else protein-y, to blunt the sugar buzz. Whoooooo!

(I only ate half, since they are definitely not gluten-free. But I cannot pass up a custard-filled, deep-fried, sugar-coated pastry, and especially not one that my grandmother made every year. So I ate half in her honor, and am willing to endure gastrointestinal discomfort in her honor. In fact, I think she would sort of expect it.)

Punishingly Intricate

Paczki! I'm so sad we are out in the 'burbs now instead of near the Polish bakery in my old work hood.

In the midst of my worrying, I self-medicated with a cinnamon scone. First wheat in ages. When I came in and checked the calorie count, it suddenly tasted a lot less yummy.

Sigh.

That's great news, Sparky. I know what a huge difference that makes.

Our wings are not tired

No deep fried pastries for me, just the breakfast sandwich I ate a few minutes ago on my flight.
