Lorne: Snakes? Uh-huh. And they came out of your what? Okay. Okay, well, did they get up there themselves or is this part of a, you know, a thing? No, I'm not judging...Do we fight snakes? Angel: Only if they're giant. Or demons. Or giant demons. Are they giant demon snakes? Lorne: Well, unless this guy's 30 feet tall, I'm thinking they're of the garden variety.

Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Yeah, she does do that. Awesomely, too.

Hmm, pasta would have been better with ricotta, but we were out.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Bev, where do you get the rice pasta shells? I've gotten great rice pasta lasagna noodles that make a killer spinach lasagna (in the crockpot, yet! you don't have to cook the noodles b/c the whole thing cooks so long in the crockpot), but I'd love to find shells to make stuffed shells. (Actually, they don't have to be rice; they could be corn if such existed. I want to marry DeBoles brand corn pasta elbows. Jesus Christ, sooooo good. I miss plain old Creamette [or store brand] angel hair, b/c I love the texture of the skeeeeeeny pasta, but for the most part, the DeBoles corn elbows rock my socks.)

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I probably don't need super pricey ones that you would need for running and such, just something reasonably supportive, and of course cute. Any suggestions?

I've had luck with the low, low end of Nike.

Back from taking Kittenish to the emergency vet for another UTI. Pets, especially older pets, are such a commitment. She's worth it but wow stressful.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Tep, a Whole Foods has opened up in our neighborhood (much to Emmett's disgust. "It's right across from the homeless park. They're going to be so discouraged!").

Anyway, I can't help but notice that they've got a berjillion gluten free items on their shelves all very carefully labeled.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I like my Earth shoes with the negative heel. They're vegan!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Colin swears by Earth shoes. They're pretty much all he can wear after foot surgery.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Steph, Lundberg or DeBoles are the brands of rice pasta we get, either at Haggen or The Market, aka Food Pavillion, both chains local to WA. But H says the Lundberg rice pasta is out of CA--they have a huge rice plantation and process and distribute their own rice products. Fred Meyer carries Lundberg, and Meyer is a Kroger chain, so if you have a Kroger you should be able to find Lundberg rice pastas, elbows and penne, at least. And if you're finding DeBoles corn pastas, their rice pastas should be available too--you can ask the store to carry them, if they don't now.

We also get fettucine-style rice noodles at the Asian market, along with angel hair and other rice noodles.

The main thing I have to remember is to cook rice pasta (aside from the Asian noodles) a couple of minutes past even what the destructions recommend. It's not a wheat-pasta al dente thing if they're undercooked, it's just tough and unpleasant.

Cass, I hope kittenish is okay.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

She's pretty stoned (clearly didn't want Trudy ((who is already seeing healing signs)) to be the only one narcotized) and seems way more comfortable. She got the antibiotic shot so I am hoping the comfort is partially real and not just the pain meds. I am pretty sure that's true.

She's generally been sitting on the floor watching stuff happen like it is suddenly kinda sparkly since we got back. Stoned. Which is fine. If I can see her and she's she's not in distress, I am more relaxed too.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Liese, I don't think the negative heel would work for me, but thanks.

Cass, I'll keep that in mind while looking.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

sj, it depends on your foot shape. Nike shoes are narrow in toe box and heel; Adidas have a wider forefoot area which works better for me.
