Where's the praising and extolling of my virtues? Where's the love?

Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Poor Ryan, and poor Ryan's parents. Sick kids is no fun for anyone.

Sigh. I am going to die a spinster, alone and loveless. More importantly, sexless. ARGH.

(which is to say, I went on a date with someone from OKCupid and it was a total bust, and just as I was sitting down got a text from the totally inappropriate girl I went out with on Sunday informing me that she is busy all weekend, sorry. Um, yeah)

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

meara, that is crazy talk you are both gorgeous and smart, but I'm sorry that dating world has been bad to you lately.

So, I'm thinking I need to buy sneakers if I'm going to be going to PT three times a week. I don't currently own any. I probably don't need super pricey ones that you would need for running and such, just something reasonably supportive, and of course cute. Any suggestions?

sj, do they need to be like, supportive running-type sneakers? Or just "more casual shoes" like Pumas/Keds?

Running style would probably be better. I can't feel my feet, but my back hurts when my shoes are not supportive enough.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Ginger for the assist.

So I finished up the thread puzzled. Consumerist, humanist, communist, theorist...assist? I don't know that one.

Yay for your bro, Steph, good for him.

And yay for you getting the treatment and guidance for feeling better, sj.

Woohoo for successful Trudy surgery.

Boo on people who don't see meara's loveliness.

Ryan, feel better, little man!

And Aims, when you check in, there's a Loyal Order of Camels Lodge in a nearby town. I thought of you when we passed the sign.

The rest of you? Hugs, hairpats, attaboys or attagirls and confetti and glitter, as you wish.

In conclusion, rice pasta shells with cottage cheese, a dash of cream, fresh ground black pepper and minced garlic browned in butter, all tossed with fresh grated romano, asiago, and parm? Not quite on par with fresh-made cheese tortellini, but getting pretty damn close.

Hee. ASS-ist! :)

Bev, as in "Ginger assisted those around her with her awesomeness"

Yeah, she does do that. Awesomely, too.

Hmm, pasta would have been better with ricotta, but we were out.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Bev, where do you get the rice pasta shells? I've gotten great rice pasta lasagna noodles that make a killer spinach lasagna (in the crockpot, yet! you don't have to cook the noodles b/c the whole thing cooks so long in the crockpot), but I'd love to find shells to make stuffed shells. (Actually, they don't have to be rice; they could be corn if such existed. I want to marry DeBoles brand corn pasta elbows. Jesus Christ, sooooo good. I miss plain old Creamette [or store brand] angel hair, b/c I love the texture of the skeeeeeeny pasta, but for the most part, the DeBoles corn elbows rock my socks.)

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I've had luck with the low, low end of Nike.

Back from taking Kittenish to the emergency vet for another UTI. Pets, especially older pets, are such a commitment. She's worth it but wow stressful.
