Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Driveby from Skimmy McSkipperson. Google has an awesome logo up for Jules Verne's Birthday. (the 8th).
Things I have learned tonight: it is not as easy to grade drunk as one might think, no matter how good of an idea it seems at the time.
{{smonster}} I'm sorry things are like that at work.

ION: I got hit by a spam today (well, overnight, actually). Its title was "mysterious centimeters". I laughed.
New discovery: when my brain is all jittery and won't let me sleep, listening to Eminem make it calm down. I don't understand this.
One day a few weeks ago, driving home from work, I couldn't find any music that would soothe my nerves. Turned on NPR, where they were having a segment on the Wu Tang Clan, and bam - instant calm.
Thanks, Shir.

For a moment, I misread that as "mysterious centipedes" which would make a good band name.
{{{smonster}}} strength~ma to you for your job.
I bet drunk grading goes better in sitcoms than it does in real life.
Philip Glass is the music that calms me.
eta: Especially the album Solo Piano - or Einstein on the Beach.
I maintain America The Beautiful would be a better national anthem than a co-opted drinking song.
Better a drinking song than a hymn, which is where the tune of America the Beautiful comes from.
How could we give up The Star-Spangled Banner considering the story behind it? It was written by a man trapped on a British ship during the bombardment of Fort McHenry in a war that was the first great test of whether the new nation would survive. He spent the night desperately trying to determine whether the fort had fallen. He started the poem on a piece of paper in his pocket, before he was released by the British. It turned out to fit the music of a popular song about wine, women and song and sung in the streets within weeks.
Also, it's not that hard to sing, if you're in the right key for your voice. Hell, I can sing it and I barely have an octave and a half range.

When I'm in a crap mood and on the verge of losing my temper at the next asshole who crosses me and the subway is mad crowded I listen to LeATHERMOUTH and pretend its a mosh pit. It's incredibly soothing.
Totally agree, Ginger.
