Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Maria, I will go with you! I'm not that far from you, IIRC. Let's do it!
The show is in PA, and I'm probably going up for the weekend--if I decide to go at all. You aren't that far from me (north of DC), but my hometown is another hour and a half.
Vortex, has any more crazy manifested itself at the new job? I wish you no stress and lots of wine.
edit: Because "anymore" and "any more" are not the same, despite what 98.9% of the population would have you believe.
I just sat down on a chair in my apartment, and G immediately shouted, "That's my chair!" Everything is theirs when they're 2 I guess.

As a matter of fact, yes. I have a Blackberry from my old position at the same damned university. Silly me thought that it wouldn't be any problem to add my new email account to the old phone. Turns out that since the law school mail server doesn't have POP enabled, you can't get your email directly to this phone. Their solution is to forward the email to your Blackberry (or iPhone, or whatever else they don't support), but I pointed out that if they do that, whatever you do with the forwarded messages does not affect your main account (such as sent mail, or marking the messages as read, or deleting), so when you get back to the office, you have to do it all over again. Basically, the only option with the Blackberry is to use webmail, which is kind of a pain in the ass. ARGH! Or, they can get me a new phone, which is kind of ridiculous.
sj, you have the patience of a saint.

Hah. You presumed to use logic, which we have already determined does not exist within the confines of your university. They are insane in so many different ways. Sounds like we need to have one of our regular meetings, involving lots of alcohol.

name the time and place, girlie! The show closes next Sunday, so I will be blissfully free for a month or so. Oooh! We could do a sleepover.

Oh, I know where the show is, never fear. I could stay the weekend; I have friends in the area. Wouldn't really want to turn around and drive all the way home after the show, anyway.

Why yes we can. I like the way you think. We'll compare calendars....

Ha. OK, let me figure out if I'm actually going to go. Profile addy is good if we need to discuss further.
amyth, your brother's sense of responsibility towards his family sounds a lot like my landlord's sense of responsibility towards his tenants. I'm so sorry you have to deal with his bullshit on top of everything else!
In other news, my arm is hurting again, like it did with the earlier bout of cat-scratch fever. Jesus H., I don't want to go through this whole damn thing all over again.
Dancre Stoker's "sequel" to Dracula NO NO NO. Could not stand that book.
Jilli, if the audiobook was not read by Simon Prebble, I would have abandoned it in the first couple of chapters.
The conceit Stoker chose to extend the story is incredibly lazy. Seriously. 'Overused' doesn't even cover it.
Prebble makes it fun and atmospheric, though.
I'm grateful for excellent readers. Honestly, were it not for Jim Dale, I'm not sure I would have made it through the Chamber of Secrets.
