Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

The selling of the old farmhouse is really happening. I'm less sad than I thought I'd be. I don't know how I feel. My sister and I have to go to Tennessee to ... do some stuff with deeds and surveys and papers that will need to be signed. I was hoping to combine that trip with the inevitable "UHaul truck moving of remaining furniture" trip, and I don't see why we *can't* do that, but it looks like we won't be, and ... yeah. I just want to be done with it, frankly. Finish the painting and pulling up the old linoleum, shove the bed and the big armoire and the rest of the little stuff into a UHaul, sign the papers, get the money, go home and drink for a couple days. Should be easy, right? Ah, no. Nothing is ever easy.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

Congrats, Kate!

Bonny, I agree it's doctor time.

Zenkitty, I hope it goes as easily as that sort of thing can.

Great article on introverts and how they interact with the world.

I am SUCH an introvert. That article doesn't make me feel avenged, though. Very misleading title.

Now tagless for your comfort.

This is for Drew and his cranky pancreas.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I haven't finished the article, but I am confused by the several references to happiness as an external reward or stimulus. I think they must mean something other than what I think they mean.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Kate, congratulations to you and your DH!!!

Oh wow, I have a DH now!! Wow. OK, that put a huge grin on my face.

Thanks, everyone! We're both back at work today, but unsurprisingly, I am not being terribly productive at the moment. Mostly looking at pictures on FB and trying to catch up here, and wishing we'd been able to take a honeymoon right away instead of having to wait until my vacation time renews in January.

In the meantime, ~ma to them who needs it (and tons of continued ~ma for Drew!). And sj, congrats on having a plan for a dress you'll love! It sounds gorgeous.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Yeah wasn't crazy about the title at all.

but I am confused by the several references to happiness as an external reward or stimulus.

I took it to mean that "if you do X, you will be happy"

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Congrats, Kate!

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

Well, here's some positive news. An acquaintance of mine who is a VO pro (award-winning and such) is willing to give me a consultation while I'm up in the Bay Area. I hope that getting a realistic assessment of where I'm rusty and where I'm okay and where to go from there will help me get over my fear. I really need to because I don't have too many ways to get out of the poverty my disability has plunged me into.
