[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

It seems my friend, after clubbing was up with his neighbor (who every one agrees is an asshole) after the club and when his friends from out of town woke up yesterday, they couldn't wake up M. Cops questioned neighbor dude who had to be admitted to the hospital b/c he had so much Valium in him, so they're assuming (they being our mutual friends) that's what happened to M as well.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Other than being really uncomfortable, the first infusion is going well.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Erin, I will again plug my favorite B&B in New Orleans, the Elysian Fields Inn. It's in Marigny, about a 15 minute walk from the French Quarter, right off of the highway. It's $99 a night, with free wi fi and breakfast. The couple that runs it, Jim and Leigh, are great.

DJ, that's awful. I'm so sorry.

amyth, I'm sorry about Lulu. It's hard even when it's time.

Vortex, that sounds awfully annoying. I hope things go smoother for you.

OMG. I just contacted over 200 students to tell them classes tonight and tomorrow night were canceled. I am so ready for a good shot of whiskey.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Jazz Fest is at the end of April. Come out after March 8 and before April 28 and you should be fine. After Jazz Fest it starts to get super hot and humid.

I also recommend staying in the Marigny or Garden District, but staying in the FQ or CBD has many good things going for it too. Check around for deals and stuff, and feel free to ping me on any specific advice or questions.

The French Quarter is not all Bourbon and Decatur- there are some cool places to see as well as dine and drink at there. However, it's true I mostly hang out on the other end of the I-10 overpass.

Needed another post to express my deepest sympathies to both Daisy and amyth. Heartbreaking.

passes whiskey to Sail

The first infusion went well, and my only worry at this point is whether or not I'm going to be able to keep my second appointment on Thursday because of snow. I now have a colonoscopy and endoscopy scheduled next week. Health really has become a full time job. Although, I really have to say I am so much more impressed with the system I have now rather than the old system I was dealing with. Everyone talks to each other and do what they say they're going to do.

Glad the infusion went well, sj! Good health care really does make a big difference in your overall mental outlook. I've got a fairly decent doctor right now, but I really miss the one I had before her. She listened, really listened, and that makes a heck of a difference.
