Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Thanks everybody.
I'm now trying to research if I can take 'Cystex' which is supposed to do the same thing as the Uricalm but uses a different active ingredient. Can't find anything yet on negative interactions.
Do you think the 'don't take this for more than 3 days' is because masking the symptoms is bad, or because these products could cause kidney damage or somesuch?
Lord knows, there are things I could be spending my time on this morning beside researching this stuff.
Thanks Fred.
I couldn't find any negative interaction info between the two uti pain relievers...and I'm feeling a bit desperate...so I just took a dose of the Cystex. Please, please let it work and have the antibiotic kick in nowish.
Having taken so many anti-bs in September, now I'm afraid that my body just won't fight on its own anymore.
I wish I could cancel that thought but it's definitely there.
On a totally different note, when I woke up feeling bad last night, I pulled an old novel out...The Wolf's Hour is one of my all time favorites.
Spies. Heroism. Werewolves. Oh my!
The only problem was, I didn't want to stop reading when I really ought to have been putting more effort into sleep.

I've done that before.
In Birthday news... I did have to get out of bed briefly but now I am back with my traditional bday breakfast: toasty croissants with blackberry jam (seedless! thank-you Knott's Berry Farm)... I couldn't find Ethiopian coffee yesterday but I have an african blend that is so very delicious with a splash of half & half. Oh yes.

I don't think that's a possibility here, though I understand your concern. You say you're on day 5 of a 14-day course of antibiotics? Give it a few more days. Sometimes it just takes longer. UTIs can be persistent, nasty buggers.

It's because it can mask the symptoms, and that might cause someone to not go to the doctor/get antibiotics when they really need to. Since you HAVE gotten antibiotics, you should be fine to continue taking it, as long as you don't exceed the recommended dose.
{{bonny}} That just sucks. My only advice is that you may need to call a doctor.
Hippo Birdies, Laga! That sounds like a lovely morning.
I've had better luck finding employees with the right temperament and then teaching them in any areas where their skills may be lacking, than I have had when I've hired people who excellent skill sets but don't mesh well with my expectations for dealing with people.
Couldn't agree with this more. When I worked in Corporate America, we usually looked more for personality and smarts than skills. We could teach them what we needed about our business but personality and an ability/desire to learn we couldn't change.

Thanks for the reassurance. Now, if one of them would just work. The burning, she burns. I took the Cystex at 1. 40 minutes in, I'm really wishing for it to work.
I'm only on day 3 of a 7 day course. Sorry for the confusion. (#5 of a twice daily, which = 14)
I just don't remember it taking this long before.
It's making it difficult to work and I'm feeling all antsy and such.

Oh, then definitely give it a couple more days before worrying that it isn't working. Like I said, sometimes UTIs can be persistent.

I totally understand! The burningness of a UTI is awful.
