Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

All is well that ends in pizza.

The new truck came thorough it with flying colors, it just isn't 4WD, so I couldn't crawl it out.

I'm glad I had the upper right tie rod end replaced last week, it was ready to snap and would have done so with the strain.

I'm OK, a bit of adrenaline hangover last night, then zonked out for 9 hours on the CPAP/BiPAP...

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

- A staffer 5 days into the job go to the congresswoman and propped her up against his chest so she would not asphyxiate, and applied pressure to her wound until medics got there.

I just saw this gentleman on the Rachel Maddow Show. Adding the the remarkableness imho is the fact that he is in his early 20s, a Junior in college, and ran toward the shooting to help.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Most people on this board vent about their jobs from time to time. When they do, they don't get offered links to job openings in other cities. They get sympathy or invocations of smiting, or practical suggestions to deal with the immediate situation.

Apologies, Tep. I kind of thought it was in the nature of a joke between you and Tom. But you've mentioned before not wanting them and I'm sorry that the situation continued.

In college, when my professor was trying to make a point about how society had changed, he asked people what they would do if they heard someone calling for help. I spoke up and said I would go see if I could help. He said I was an atavism, a throwback. He said most people would ignore it or call the police.

I've always hoped he was wrong. At least in this case he was.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

If someone were just shouting or yelling, no, I probably wouldn't go see what it was at first.

Extended screaming? More likely.

Someone shouting for help? Unless the situation was set up thus that I suspected danger, always.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

- the Westboro Baptist Church plans to picket the funeral of the little girl (for one)

WTH? What can they possibly be protesting that would have them disturb a child's funeral?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

WTH? What can they possibly be protesting that would have them disturb a child's funeral?

Reality.

Reality.

Actually, I find myself protesting that a lot.

Jilli, I'm glad to hear your mother is stable. The one time I met her, I thought she was absolutely wonderful, and I continue to send ~ma to her, you and your family.

“Not dead yet!”

WTH? What can they possibly be protesting that would have them disturb a child's funeral?

Honest answer?

Because the girl's family is Catholic.

And because they can.

Phelps and his cronies are sub-human sacks of shit.
