Angel: Is that what you think you are--a hero? Spike: Saved the world didn't I? Angel: Once. Talk to me after you've done it a couple more times.

'Destiny'

Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

thanks to the magic of ambien i slept through all firework-related noise, and the kitties spent most of the night burrowed under the covers, basking in my warmth. Nico clearly overindulged last night, waking me at 4am with his hoarking (i kicked him off the bed, stayed awake long enough to make sure he hoarked on the floor and not my duvet) and has continued hoarking up fur and bits of clear plastic every few hours since then. Poor dude, i can't figure out where he found so much plastic...i'm usually quite good at keeping it out of kitty-reach.

In the meantime, the black eyed peas simmer and i can't wait to try Laga's tomato-ey goat cheese deliciousness. Mmmmmm.

Compassionately intolerant

Well humans love symbolism, metaphors and rituals.

Yep. I use aLOT of metaphor and ritual in my work and people do love it.

“Not dead yet!”

Happy New Year, Bitches!

It would seem that I have missed quite a bit of sadness around here, so much love and ~ma to those who need, both Buffista and by extension.

We've been very mellow since my mom left late Tuesday night. We were looking forward to playing tourist around Seattle with the remaining vacation days, but Lewis came down with an absolutely horrid case of some sort of stomach ick that made him violently ill most of Wednesday. Thursday he was still so wiped, he just stayed in bed all day. By yesterday, he was feeling better, but by no means completely 100%. Luckily, we had nothing major planned for the eve other than pizza, ice cream, and watching my Seminoles beat South Carolina. At midnight we watched the fireworks from the Space Needle on TV and called it a night.

And today is ham and football.

May 2011 bring peace, good health, and deserving happiness to all of you. I'm grateful for each and every one of you.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

i can't wait to try Laga's tomato-ey goat cheese deliciousness.

That does sound incredibly delicious. Wonder if I could persuade The Girl to try cooking something like that on a special occasion. I had a baked goat's cheese starter in a restaurant the other day and it was divine.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Yeah, I know that one.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

Dammit. Another day when hours were spent online and daylight is fading. Plus I'm tired and RSI-achey and don't feel like doing much. But I've got a dress to finish by Jan 5. I need to sew and place ties for it (converted to wrap-around). I need to finish the sleeves and the hems. Bleagh. I may nap. I went to bed at 5am and woke up around 9:30am.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

WindSparrow, that's horribly irritating re the trash can. Did you get the numberplate of the driving instructor, to report them to their company, if they're from one?

Nah, when they were there, I didn't bother, because as far as I knew they were just being annoying, yet perfectly within their rights. It wasn't until I was leaving for work that I saw the trash can sitting in the street positioned just so.

The only plus to Andi's story? I was able to grab the handle of the trash can as I drove in, and dragged it along up to the house.

Okay, the start of the story was annoying (on their parts) but it has a fantastic finish.

Daniel loves to do that, but has been prevented from it for months because the electric motor on the driver's side window on the Grand Am was broken, and in the last few weeks because the snow banks are so high, we've been putting the trash out at the other side of the driveway, which is sidewalk that gets cleared by the businesses next door.

I've tried putting the trash cans (I believe in the UK they are referred to as wheelie bins), and can attest to the fact that it is, indeed, fun.

The other one? still at the curb, thank you very much.

When I left for work this morning, it had been blown into the street. I've now put it with its mate behind the house.

Most importantly, ND is healthy, and we have surrounded ourselves with dear friends who are like family to us. We are both working and able to pay the bills, and our first wedding anniversary is on Wednesday. I can't believe we were in Hawaii a year ago!

Wheee! Congratulations! I can't believe it's been a year! So much has happened, what a year it has been.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

{{{amyth}}}

Peace and blessings, honey.
