Holidays are over. Whew. They were good holidays, but I'm glad to be home with nothing much I have to do and no one I have to see.

Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
"Thanks! We are just one of those couples like in the movie The Notebook! In almost 3 years together, we never broke up even once!"
Ahahahaha, that's funny. I share your not getting it.
ION, yesterday was awesome, but today is not looking great, as my ex-neighbor is harassing me about my tenants on my cell phone and my sister is sick with mysterious illness, that we don't know if it's caused by overindulgence last night or a flu bug or what.
"Thanks! We are just one of those couples like in the movie The Notebook! In almost 3 years together, we never broke up even once!"
Weird.
We were supposed to have one more holiday celebration today, but TCG's brother canceled because of the potential snowfall today. So, I can relax today! No being social!
And also the fact that when people congratulated her on her engagement, her reply was NOT "I'm so happy," or similar, but "We've never broken up!"
That really is sad, in a way. It always makes me wonder about how 'hard' the relationship has been...so bad that a bloodied victory is what comes to mind before happiness? Eeeeh.
Today is a really good day. We went for a super long walk since it appears we will get some depth of snow. It's crazy, the difference between predictions. So far, it's anything between 1-3 inches and 6-10 inches.
Honestly, people...pick a source and stick with it!
Now, I'm listening to Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me. Love it.
We're also listening to Wait Wait, and we're about to go for a walk. Almost six inches, here.
In almost 3 years together, we never broke up even once!
Obviously I don't know the people in question, but to me this reads sarcastic and funny, not an actual boast. (Like when people ask my parents how long they've been married and my mom says "We just celebrated our 30th anniversary....ten wonderful years!")
the one downside of sleeping for 12 hours? Setting my alarm for 6:15am then freaking the frack out when i groggily looked at the clock and saw 6:30. Thankfully my disoriented mind noticed the dot indicating pm before springing out of bed and commencing my morning de-snot routine.
A dream last night reminded me that i gave blood 4 days before starting this particular illness, and perhaps i shouldn't be too irate and my immune system's failure, given that it was still replenishing that lost blood whilst trying to fight off this ick.
also, belated thanks to the neti pot. I know i gave it the thumbs down earlier...but we've come to a point where it is actually super usefull at flushing out a day's worth of nasty in short sessions. I'm appreciative of spending 2 15 minute bursts flushing out massive quantities, rather than spending all day long dripping and blowing. I'm not enjoying the sensation of drowning myself twice a day, but the results are worth the momentary discomfort.
Ok, back to trying to avoid calls again. (when we aren't super busy, there's a trick that puts me at the bottom of the queue so i can sometimes go an hour or more without having to take a call! this is a lovely thing.)

erin_, it is for this reason that I use the neti bottle. With the extra ooomph of the squeezy bottle, I can actually stand mostly upright and get the same (or better) clearing effect.
Having to bend over to let gravity do the work felt too much like waterboarding myself...adding stress to illness? No go!
Hope you feel better soon.
I second the neilmed bottle. I use myself, over in a couple of minutes though sometimes throwing up can be a side effect.
[ed] I think only if I get in a rush and try to go to fast instead of folowing instructuions and squeezing gently.
Really?! I've never thrown up...or even gagged real hard. Typo, you might want to ease up on the pressure, Dude!
