You'll fight, and you'll shag, and you'll hate each other till it makes you quiver, but you'll never be friends.

Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Church of Baseballarian

Speaking of which, I am pleased to report that the Christmas Train underneath the Golden Gate Park Christmas Tree, which features a new driver every year according to the whim of the groundskeepers (It was Obama in 2010 and has been Harry Potter and Dora in the past), this year features: Brian Wilson's beard! Yeah, Church of Baseball!

(Apologies to Baseball Apostates)

JZ's xmas morning also prominently featured as parrot as I gave her this.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Came in handy as it's quite rainy here today.

The winds coming back across the bridge were as bad as I've experienced in the Bay Area. The only times I've been buffetted worse by the wind in a car was on the Grapevine.

JZ and Matilda got dropped off at church for Mass. We missed JZ's regular church's Mass, so she's at Gracie Allen's old parish church, Star of the Sea.

In fifteen minutes I get back in the car to go collect them. Then back to the house for a quick change, and gather stuff up, and then we go back across the very windy bridge, collect Emmett (who has been doing his giant Hogwarts Lego set at his mom's), and go to JZ's dad's house for xmas dinner with all the aunts and uncles.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Ugh, this new brand of haircolor does NOT agree with my hair - big patches of bleach showing through after leaving it in 2 hours*!! Guess I'll be dyeing again tonight after D goes to bed - good this I have plenty of the old stuff to cover with.

*The dye, not the bleach. 2 hours of bleach would leave me bald, I think.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Hm, there's elastic netting on our rib roast. Do we remove it or keep it on during the cooking?

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Nora, I'd keep it on - it'll help keep everything compact so it'll keep its shape and cook more evenly ( just like trussing a bird). But really, there's no harm either way.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Living in PNW has not increased our brolly use. Wet umbrellas use up space and are difficult to wrangle. Hair and clothes dry, and glasses can be wiped dry. (shrug) I love brollies. I just can't be arsed to carry or use one.

Merry Christmas, mah Bitches! I'm with Jess on the appropriateness of the phrase for the day. We had a lovely brunch and coffee, called H's mom and bro, StY called to tell us he has a white Christmas, which he can't ever remember before in his life--before, after, sure. On the day? Never, since Nurnberg, and he was only a year old, so doesn't remember.

I'm about to go make fresh eggnog and we're going to indulge our 12.25 tradition of watching all three installments of LotR, extended versions, on dvd, while the Christmas ham cooks. We shall devour it sometime mid-The Two Towers, with sweet potatoes and broccoli and possibly a nice shiraz.

Our present to each other is dining room chairs, when we find them. And possibly a table, if the one we hauled westward doesn't work in the space.

Enjoy your day, loves!
