Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

erin_o, I meant to say yesterday that I recommend keeping up with the nasal irrigation even if the immediate effects aren't as brilliant as you hope. There is some cummulative value to continued cleansing of the nasal passages and sinuses. I find that even those times when it doesn't seem to give me the immediate relief I am used to from it, it helps in the long run. I'm glad if it helped even in a minor way with the pain in the adenoids.

Teppy, I'm glad you got some good rest, and that you have a plan to get the care you need.

I want both of you, and everybody else who isn't feeling at the top of their games (including me) to feel better.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

Disability makes it difficult to decide when to exercise as it usually wipes me out. If I wait too long, I might not do it (esp in short daylight periods). If I go to early, I don't have energy left for the other things I need/want to do. I'm now wiped from the morning's exercise and will probably take a nap that will mess up my sleeping hours.

After a couple days cooped inside because of the rain, I decided I was going to have to go out in it anyway. I walked 3 mi RT from our house to the beginning of East LA. There's a community garden out that way I figured I'd take a look at. I had an umbrella but I really underestimated how hard it was raining and, more importantly, how much flooding there was. I had to ford "rivers" several times on the way home because there was no other choice for a pedestrian. When I got home, there were few parts of me that weren't soaked. The shoes/socks were a total loss. My jeans were so stiff with water it was hard to take them off.

Still, I need to get exercise. I hurt even more if I don't exercise.

Saw some interesting stuff, which is the advantage walking has over most other forms of transport. Took some pictures, including one of an impromptu waterfall: [link]

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Wow, Spidra, that's pretty crazy.

Looong weekend. I was glad I went to the service, and hope that the family felt comforted. There were lots of people there. Came home, went to a lovely cookie party. Now I'm home, showered in pjs, and going to bed soon. I have lots of stuff to do, but I am just wiped.

Bed is good, smonster. You've been working so hard and have had a lot of stressors lately. Glad you got a cookie party in.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

That is pretty awesome.

I bookmarked this one when I think Vortex mentioned it. Not sure if it's the same.

It's a great B&B in the Marigny. Leigh and Jim are great.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

So I emailed maybe-future-boss-lady one more time this morning about the job in NOLA, and heard back immediately. She apologized for not getting back to me, said she'd been working on funding, and that her father had a stroke a month ago and died last week. And promised me an update on Wednesday. Now I kind of feel like an ass. So I fired off a quick response with condolences and profuse thanks for her email. I may send an actual card, too.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

It's OK, smonster, you weren't to know about her dad. It's been a few weeks, it's reasonable that you follow up with her.

ION, I am on vacation for 2 weeks!
