Well, we went and had dinner with friends of my parents, and back to the house for cake, and we're all so tired and the weather is so crappy that we're postponing the drinkfest. We might watch a DVD. Besides, I've got my colleague's funeral tomorrow at one, and being hungover would not be ideal.
Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Get thee to urgent care! I worry.
I'm just afraid they'll treat me like I'm an idiot who came to urgent care just because I have a cold. Because I do have a lot of head congestion and that cough. When I talk, I sound all nasally, like a person with a cold does.
I'm afraid they won't take me seriously.
And I think Tim thinks I'm blowing this out of proportion. Maybe I am. So that really sucks. I'm totally doubting myself now. I've just never had my lungs hurt with a cold before, so it's a little scary.
Go to urgent care anyway, tell them you know it might just be a cold but it hurts and you want to be sure it isn't something serious. Bonus: get Tim to drive you there.
What Zen said. I only went in because ND made me, and it was a damned good thing he did. Worst case? They'll say it's nothing to worry about. But if you say your lungs hurt and you just want to rule out pneumonia, they will take you seriously. But they need to do a chest X-ray to know for sure.
x-post w/Natter:
A friend of mine is thinking of writing a book of her low-carb primal/paleo recipes. (They are scrumptious, even the no-grain breads.) She's asked for my help, and I hate to tell her I know nothing. Anyone know of recipe book or cookbook publishers?
Ok, I am in a store that has Plenty of OB tampons (regular and super). Is it a part of the country shortage? Should I buy some and ship them to y'all?
Congratulations to sister of smonster. And I hope tomorrow goes ok, too - sorry to hear about your colleague.
Teppy, please take care of yourself. I don't know whether that means going to urgent care, or not, but I do think "lungs aching" is sufficiently important a symptom to warrant it.
Watching Poirot. Woo to the hoo!
Steph, I support you going. You can't be sure they'll take you seriously if you go, but they don't have the chance to if you don't go. Sooner diagnosed, sooner treated.
Teppy, if you go, you can phrase it, "I mentioned my lungs aching, and several friends got all freaked out. So to put them at ease, I have promised to get this checked out." Incidentally, every time I start typing to you, Harvey leaps up into my arms, burrows into my shawl and starts purring. I don't think it's coincidence. I think he senses how concerned I am about you.
ION, Daniel is at the grocery store a few blocks from here, waiting on AAA. He stopped there to look for something nice for supper after rolling back into town after work, and when he tried to start it, it didn't cooperate. And then he managed to lock the keys inside it.
Bronchitis is fairly serious, too. It seems like you may haz, though despite the blue eyes, impairment and antisocial manner, I'm not actually House. Go get treated, and remember...it's never lupus.
