Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Our wings are not tired.

Work overload keeps me from here, but Drew liked the flowers with the Teddy bear in sent last Saturday just fine. Unless he lies like a lying liar who lies.

And, I used to work with mignon aka grammar girl, and I hope she's learned a lot since then (2001) because I used to argue with her all the time about use, and she often was wrong.

Eta: I really freaking hate iPhone corrections which is why I rarely pos these days. Sorry.

Dear iPhone, I want FRAKKING NOT FREAKING YOU MOTHERFRAKJR.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Dear iPhone, I want FRAKKING NOT FREAKING YOU MOTHERFRAKJR.

Aww, look at that. Motherfrak has a kids' line now.

Also, nobody makes delivered flower bouquets that are appropriate for ND.

I'm a Biytea now. Brew-it-yourself tea, presumably.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

Psst. ND can't drink for a year. Well, booze at least. The bars at USITT and F2F are saddened already. First the economy, now this.

BTW, wrt iPhone typos, in the upper left corner of the keyboard is a backspace button. IJS!

Our wings are not tired.

When every other word is "corrected" I don't care where the backspace button is. It's as annoying as fuck.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

I'm finding my time in fandom distressingly applicable to commenting in the political arena

There's a famous researcher named Jenkins. Not sure if you've heard of him. Anyhow, this is what he has to say (seriously) about fan culture and politics. [link]

So I read Grammar Girl on farther vs further and I understand farther refers to physical distance and further metaphorical. Although a lot of people think it's OK to use the words interchangaby I still try to be as correct as possible. Is time physical or metaphorical? Did Marty McFly go farther or further back in time?

I didn't know that! Great to know. Anyhow, to me, time is a metaphorical concept. Just feels more metaphorical, that's all.

Mom: "If you had to choose between us and [GF], who would you pick?"
Brother: "That's a stupid question. I'm not going to answer that. It would be like me asking you to pick between me and [my sister]."
Mom: "Right now, honestly, I would pick [your sister] because at least she is being good and listens to us."

And then he hung up on her because, you know, what the fuck. She called back and said that he asked her to choose, so she chose, which is a bullshit answer. She told him to focus on his studies, that's all she wants now. And later sent him a text that she loves him and is sorry for hurting his feelings.

P-C, your mom wins over every Jewish Mama I can think of. You really should write that book.

And now... drum roll I am to choose my classes for next year! Woo-hoo! Really excited. (Well, some house chores first. But then... choosing classes!).

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Flowers are messy and covered in pesticides and a lot of people are allergic to them - I stand fully with the hospitals on preferring balloons.
