Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Hey Barb, you can give me a good substitute for the word "inadequate", because I'm writing a report and I need to say that the current plan isn't working, but the person who created the current plan may read this, and I don't want to hurt her feelings. I actually like her.

“Not dead yet!”

How about variations on "insufficient" or "lacking"? Perhaps not quite as harsh as inadequate?

Folding laundry is MY calming method of choice!

Barb, you are going to be great because you love the material. If you concentrate on what YOU love, the audience will follow. If you worry too much about what other people think, it will turn the energy into the opposite of what you want.

Do you have a couple of good questions to ask the audience after the reading? "What did you all think of the scene where____?" "What was it like for you to hear_____?" Engaging them is a great way to get a favorable response.

I've seen Malcolm Gladwell use this technique with great effect.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I would probably use a phrase like "has room for improvement" or "could be improved by/with" or whatever....

Why yes, I was an organizational development consultant for many years. What tipped you off?

I like insufficient. There's a monetary aspect, so it works well there as well.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

My Aunties took me out today for a wonderful post-wedding champagne lunch! I wonder just how long I can stretch out the wedding celebrations?

Yay, Daniel!

Teppy, I'm sorry you are having such a difficult time of it lately. Please don't feel badly about talking about it here.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Breaking news is reporting that Elizabeth Edwards died today.

Oh, no. That's horrible. I actually like her.
