What should I do, then? Send her a gift? Sacrifice? … Unholy fruit basket?

Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I love "Christmas in Connecticut" and "White Christmas." I'd never really thought of "Meet Me In St. Louis" as a Christmas movie -- it has a Christmas scene, but it takes place over the course of a year, doesn't it? I used to go see The Nutcracker every year, when my friend was still dancing with ABT, but she just retired, so I guess I'll watch it on TV or something.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

but it takes place over the course of a year, doesn't it?

Right, it has a famous Halloween scene too. But Judy Garland does sing "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" in it.

“Not dead yet!”

And a lot of the emotional climax takes place around the fact that the family will no longer be in St. Louis and that this is their last Christmas in their house.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I said in the Movies thread the other day that I think of Desk Set as a Christmas movie, because it has that awesome Christmas party scene.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I love Desk Set and will watch it at any time of the year.

Librarian Warlord

At my ex-university, every year on the day the students handed in their final papers, we librarians would put on Desk Set and watch it while we waited for all of them to drop off their stuff.

Always Anti-fascist!

The Ref, A Christmas Story, and maybe I'll dig out that Christmas Homicide episode with Munch and the kid, and the card game.

And this:

MUNCH: Name one miracle you've witnessed in your lifetime.

BOLANDER: How about that I haven't killed you yet?

It really is surprisingly touching, but I'll never believe you can hustle people playing hearts.

Oh, yeah. But it still seems like a Christmas movie to me -- just one that I'll watch any time.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I love The Grinch, Charlie Brown Xmas Special, and It's a Wonderful Life.
