I have plenty of gloves. The skin on my hands starts cracking and bleeding sometime around Halloween if I don't wear gloves.
Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Sorry, I was feeling kind of mother-y there.
I have a warmish jacket that got me through several winters in DC, but it's already getting too cold for that jacket here. My mom is sending me a new jacket from LL Bean as a Chanukah present.
Mark the date: 6/12. Winter arrived to Israel, at last. We got rain, and I might consider actually wearing my winter coat (instead of my jacket) if it'll get any colder (11 C - the low temperature).
Oh, and they managed to kill the horrid fire. About 5 million trees were burn. 42 dead. This is the worst natural disaster we've ever had.
It's pretty chilly this morning here- I really need to find my hat or buy a new one.
lisah, you and your DH look beautiful and so very happy! Congratulations to you both! Sarameg looks wonderful as well.
I love our new handyman. He is not only replacing our dryer vent today (on time!), but he brought his own vacuum to clean up the mess that the broken vent made. I would have cleaned it myself but it required being able to move a stacked washer dryer so nsm.
Congrats, lisah and husband!
Sympathies to Matt and family.
Kicking off my holiday nostalgia by watching "Holiday Inn". I can't believe people know "White Christmas" and don't know "Holiday Inn". It's one of the few times I can think of where the sequel is more popular than the original.
Its a sequel?
The wildfire in Israel and its toll was very sad. I'm glad some rain has arrived.
Wait, I'm confused, I thought the movie "Holiday Inn" was the same movie as "White Christmas", it's just that the song is so popular that people got mixed up. Huh. Turns out, I was mixed up. Well, in that case, I'm glad to have been straightened out.
"Holiday Inn" came first (1942). "White Christmas" was introduced in that film, which starred Bing Crosby & Fred Astaire. A decade later they wanted to get them together again for a kind of a sequel. Astaire was initially in it but there were contract or scheduling issues so they signed Danny Kaye instead. "White Christmas" the film came out in 1954. While it has a different story and different characters than "Holiday Inn", it's a sort of sequel because it's still all Irving Berlin songs, including "White Christmas" and it meant to be a reunion of Crosby & Astaire.
