And speaking of the name, I love this song titled, When the Stars Go Blue, sung by my favorite Norwegian singer.
Heh, bonny-- I'm notoriously terrible at titles so I totally cribbed the title of the book from the song. It's a Ryan Adams chart, but my favorite version is The Corrs w/ Bono.

I like the version you linked, too-- hadn't heard that one before.
It wasn't just a random choice, either-- the lyrics of the song fit the emotion and narrative arc of the book absolutely amazingly.
I actually had one reviewer notice that all of the chapter titles are also song titles; she said that once she noticed that, she went back and took special note of it and loved it because it served as a musical roadmap for the story. ::loves when readers get it so completely::
they were basically spitting three times and throwing holy water.
"Gypsies. We will speak of them no more."
Ha. I was totally listening to the Bono/Corrs version while you were posting that, Barb.
I love the idea of song titles creating a roadmap to the story. Very clever of you and massive points to the reviewer!
I have donuts! My parents sent me a box of vegan donuts for Chanukah. They're frozen, and need to be heated up, and then put the icing on, so it's not quite like just getting a box of donuts to eat right away, but still, donuts! I'm putting most of them in the freezer so that I can make them last a while, just having one every few days.
Egad Barb, that woman!
Sending Kleenex and a good nap to Cass.
The msnbc photoblog currently has two photos of the fire in Israel: [link]
I am getting some REALLY positive feedback from people who have observed my classes, esp. from the dual-credit college class, so I am very happy about that.
WOOOOT! I love how many outstanding teachers we have among the 'fiastas.
Shir, that is so terrible. Safety~ma to all those in danger.
Barb, not surprised to hear she's got a pattern.
I made this for dinner and it was nom. [link] Subbed whole milk for cream and regular cider for hard. I also roasted a bunch of pecans with blood orange jam, salt, pepper, brown sugar. Don't know why I'm all Suzy Homemaker tonight. Maybe I'll bring down my Hanukkah and Xmas decorations.
Yay Amy surgery! Boo big fire in Israel. Yay erin's job!
