Everybody dies, Tracey. Someone's carrying a bullet for you right now, doesn't even know it. The trick is to die of old age before it finds you.

I had no idea you lived near Metcalf South in Overland Park.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Ok. There is no one from my team still in the office, and I have worked my butt off today. Should I go ahead and leave? I said I'd be here until 5, but at this point I'm just waiting to see if other people finish stuff before 5 so I can look at it.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Okay, I'm not from here. There's lots of stuff I don't know about American history. In fact, when I was in hospital, they kept asking me American civic studies to find out if I was conscious, and you know what? NOT FROM HERE. They probably thought I was just crazy.

HOWEVER. "Ich bin ein Berliner"? Dude. You're supposed to know who said that. When the person asks you by prompting you with "Died in Dallas" and "American president" you're really supposed to get it.

Basically, if clueless me gets it, everyone is supposed to get it.

Of course, if he'd answered Eddie Izzard, mayhem would have ensued. Positive mayhem.

Wheeee! Netflix On Demand has Dark Shadows! The original! I'm watching Willie Loomis try and break into a crypt. This is fantastic.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Jilli - have you ever seen the Dark Shadows blooper tape? Tons o' mistakes (boom mike visible, stage hand walking on set behind actors, etc.) Reminds me of what they said on mst3k once: "They just. Didn't. Care."

eta: All stuff that aired, btw.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

oh, I loved Dark Shadows! as a matter of fact, it was so popular my first year of college, the girls with afternoon labs would leave one person to watch whatever was going on in the lab and everyone else would walk up to the nearest dorm and watch it (and then go back and finish the lab).

I haven't seen the blooper tape! I will need to search that out.

My mom watched Dark Shadows while pregnant with me, and while I was growing up. She claims that she should have known I would turn out to be a goth.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I feel that Jesse needs help getting ready for the weekend, so I'm linking this video.
