Zoe: Nobody's saying that, sir. Wash: Yeah, we're pretty much just giving each other significant glances and laughing incessantly.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Cooked-fish sushi is a poor substitute for the raw stuff. Stoopid fetus.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Does phone fear account for why people seem to freeze when they call me in error? I answer with my first name, and I just know if no one says anything it's because they didn't hear what they were expecting.

But, dude, still say hello. You are not released from the social contract just because you fat fingered a number.

Hmmph.

Oh honey, the mentally unwell people have been in the fanbase since Game Changers was Stucky fanfiction on the internet. The calls have been coming from inside the house the whole time!

And no one gets that I am basically doing the higher level work for her-- her boss just sees the work (and I can't tell her because I don't want to tattle) My boss thinks it is great that we help each other out!!!!

Is there any way you can arrange leave time to coincide with a big accounting deadline that she'll be unable to meet without your help, so as to make clear to the boss exactly how capable she is at her job?

I think of code-switching as primarily linguistic because that's how it is discussed in my field, particularly around bilingual/bicultural kids.

Thank you for confirming my thoughts about wacky hair color, everyone! I just wanted to make sure I wasn't completely off-base.

I just made my Saturday haircut appointment via text message. It's the coolest ever. They have an online system, but it sucks. This is much simpler.

Looks like I might have a signed contract on my house by the end of the day. It's down another $10K, but we have had no one look at the place in over 2 weeks and I really want it sold. It is still a good deal for me and will basically be a wash with paying off the current mortgage and buying the new house.
