I think of code-switching as primarily linguistic because that's how it is discussed in my field, particularly around bilingual/bicultural kids.
Love the etsy store, lisa.
Ugh. Radiology this morning was no fun. We even lost Grace's shoes. Seriously.
Also, I love that my brow place does scheduling via on line appointments and email.
Thank you for confirming my thoughts about wacky hair color, everyone! I just wanted to make sure I wasn't completely off-base.

I just made my Saturday haircut appointment via text message. It's the coolest ever. They have an online system, but it sucks. This is much simpler.
Looks like I might have a signed contract on my house by the end of the day. It's down another $10K, but we have had no one look at the place in over 2 weeks and I really want it sold. It is still a good deal for me and will basically be a wash with paying off the current mortgage and buying the new house.
Got my fingers crossed, msbelle!
Good luck, msbelle. Does that mean you would be mortgage-free in Tx?
I think it means she would be pretty much where she is now, mortgage-wise. Which sounds like a workable outcome, so yay!
Okay Cashmere, you win this time!
In 2008, the New York State Department of Health announced that NYC won the coveted title for best-tasting drinking water in New York, which vindicated our tap when we came in 2nd earlier that year during an unscientific blind taste testing. But while many of us don't even feel the need to filter our water through a Brita, we don't actually have The Best tasting water according to some people. No, that title has just been handed to Stevens Point, Wisconsin (pop. 25,000).
The Wall Street Journal reports that we did, however, come in 2nd—the highest honor the city has received at the American Water Works Association’s annual contest—where winners are declared following taste-test competitions. The NYC Environmental Protection Commissioner Cas Holloway declared: “[this] confirms a fact that locals have known for decades: New York City water is simply the best.” Er, simply the 2nd best.
