The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Cable guy came! I have cable channels! YAY. Cableguy forgot to take the cable box away, and I just wasted over 45 minutes trying to get an answer as to if he was coming back to get it today before I gave up and made another appointment for next week.

I know corporations don't wear shoes, but I'm pretty sure that if Comcast did, it wouldn't know how to tie them.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

We're back from tromping around the Mission for four hours. Met up with Sunil who took tour guide duties. (I was all, "Dude, I took you to that burrito place when you first got here." But he did take me to a new comic book store that was excellent.)

The Lily / Matilda show was very cute. They mirrored each other incessantly and were a giddy, hand holding, running serpentine down the sidewalk pile of cute.

Matilda is now sacked out on the bed. Ple, Paul, Lily and JZ are still on their way home, probably looking for parking.

We'll eat in tonight and head down to Perkins for brunch tomorrow.

Sad news: Ripley the hairless cat at Borderland Books died.

Good news: The toasted coconut ice cream at Bi-Rite was yum.

just got back from Palm Springs. The refreshing thing about going to Palm Springs in June is that the weather at home is nice and cool!

In other news, I have eaten a thousand things that are bad for me this weekend and burned the shit out of my mouth and it's not even Sunday yet.

Also, how miserable is a car ride with twin 3 year olds between LA and Idaho going to be?

you'd have to drive up to Northbrook, so I'm guessing that's a no.

Not so much, considering the lack of a car. But thanks!

I made kale chips with olive oil, vinegar, sea salt, and garlic. I eated them all.

Now I think I'm going to listen to some DJ Earworm mashups while I study, and my reward for doing so will be Doctor Who.

I just realized I have kale. How does one make these chips exactly?

Like this, more or less: [link] You can experiment with seasonings -- I usually like garlic powder.

Some recipes use lower heat, 250 or 300. I've usually made mine in a dehydrator, so I'm not sure what the temp should be. I also just found a recipe for some with sea salt and vinegar, which sounds really good and makes me think I should buy some kale and try it.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

If Kale chips are as good as roasted cauliflower, I am going to have to try them!

I did not end up getting a CSA because I couldn't figure out how to get the box home (not really conducive to bus riding with a bum right side), but I did put in some tomato plants!

Also, I just realized how much I love cottage cheese I tend to avoid it, because I think of it as a diet food, and because my mom used to serve it with sugar free canned peaches and it was disgusting, but I really could eat it every day. I especially like it with olives on the side, or an Italian olive salad on top Nom, nom, nom.
