Ghana will have a tough road. If they beat Uruguay, which is certainly doable, they will likely have to play either Brazil or Netherlands, neither of which would be easy.

I'm on my second CSA box. I think I'm going to make kale chips, roast the kolhrabi and beets, put the cauliflower in a curry, and make caprese salad and pesto with the basil.
I need to study for an exam this weekend. Bah.
I'm going to the doctor on Thursday, and the next thing on my Why Do I Have To Be An Adult?! list is the dentist.
Chicagoistas: dentist recommendations?
We went out to watch the US-Ghana match today with some friends and had a great time. I was the only one in our group rooting for Ghana, and I mostly did so under my breath; there were some seriously rabid US fans in the bar! But I'm so happy for Ghana, and hoping they can hold out against Uruguay.
In other news, Mark and I are planning a trip to New Orleans next weekend to see a college friend of his, and just to visit -- I've never been, though Mark went to Tulane. But it turns out that, um, every single hotel and B&B in the area is booked solid! Yikes! We may try to beg some floor/couch space from his friend, but if that's not forthcoming, I'm not sure what we'll do. I really want to go!
I am now up one pair of cowboy boots (uh, and a summery dress--it's hard to walk down Melrose and not look in the windows). Woohoo! They're not the pair, but they were cheap, and they'll do until the right pair come along.
Sara and I went to see Toy Story 3. She was fine -- laughed and loved it -- and I bawled at the end. Good times!
shrift, I'd recommend my dentist, but you'd have to drive up to Northbrook, so I'm guessing that's a no.
We need pictures of them Jesse, I mean ita.
I tried making Kale chips but with the Spinach I have. Not quite sure if I like them this way. I think I used too much olive oil.
Cable guy came! I have cable channels! YAY. Cableguy forgot to take the cable box away, and I just wasted over 45 minutes trying to get an answer as to if he was coming back to get it today before I gave up and made another appointment for next week.
I know corporations don't wear shoes, but I'm pretty sure that if Comcast did, it wouldn't know how to tie them.
We're back from tromping around the Mission for four hours. Met up with Sunil who took tour guide duties. (I was all, "Dude, I took you to that burrito place when you first got here." But he did take me to a new comic book store that was excellent.)
The Lily / Matilda show was very cute. They mirrored each other incessantly and were a giddy, hand holding, running serpentine down the sidewalk pile of cute.
Matilda is now sacked out on the bed. Ple, Paul, Lily and JZ are still on their way home, probably looking for parking.
We'll eat in tonight and head down to Perkins for brunch tomorrow.
Sad news: Ripley the hairless cat at Borderland Books died.
Good news: The toasted coconut ice cream at Bi-Rite was yum.
