"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

You win at food tonight.

We win at lazy self indulgence, that's for sure.

And we watched Futurama.

And we're now just watching random Buffy on Logo. "Him" - I'd totally forgotten about this episode.

Exhibit A of Forgetting.

Me: "So...is he a vampire or is that a magic letterman jacket?"
JZ: "Magic jacket. Don't you remember? This episode has the awesome split screen."
Me: "Buh?"

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Are these the phones I sent you?

It's probably my fault, if they are.

It's been that kind of week.

..."Oh! The one where Buffy tries to use the rocket launcher on Wood. And Spike tackles her. Yeah. Okay."

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

These are those phones, Perkins. Now they're doing just what the phones before them did, so the common theme is me, not you. Or my evil apartment aura. Whichever. I dunno what's up with that.

Heh, Hec. I just, for some reason, watched that (I'd never watched an episode on Logo before, ever) earlier this week. I miss Buffy. I even miss high school counsellor pedo Buffy.

Yeah. Moi aussi.

And now the infinitely more memorable "Conversations With Dead People" is on.

Because books.

I just finished watching my first official Dr. Who episode.

I get the secret handshake or something now, right?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I just finished watching my first official Dr. Who episode.

Which one? Which season?

For some reason I'm loving the current season way more than season 1, which are the only two seasons I've seen (and I've only seen a few season 1 episodes).

Because books.

The first episode with the ninth doctor, tommy, "Rose." I liked it!

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Ugh. What's the verdict, Matt? Working the weekend, or not?

Working the weekend or finding a different line of work, I think. (I was already planning on working the afternoons to handle what I had to do before these changes came down - now it's gone from rough-but-I-can-handle-it to praying I can redo 4 days' worth of work in crisis mode tomorrow and still finish all the pages I haven't worked on yet by Wednesday morning.)

If I'd just gotten this feedback a week and a half ago when I was working in a vacuum, the changes could have been folded in and all would have been well. But of course they waited until 3 business days before deadline to give me major changes to the basic layout that should have been decided on by last Friday or Monday at the latest.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I stayed up late talking with other grown-ups. Boys played nicely together, did not bother us, and went to bed when asked. There was dinner in a backyard and roasting marshmallows. The plan for tomorrow morning is to hit a few yard sales before heading out to the farm. I am loving this weekend. Viva suburbia.
