When we landed here you said you needed a few days to get space worthy again and is there somethin' wrong with your bunk?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

No, it isn't that bad. The warming of the sun will result in the depletion of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere wiping out all macro life-forms in about 500 million years.

Yeah, but we'll have orbiting satellites to deflect the excess solar output by then. But I suppose if the game is still going on in 500 million years they can just have the satellites reflect a bunch of solar energy onto the Wimbledon court....

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yeah, I so would have conceded hours ago. But that`s why I am lying abed with a mild cold and not a world class athlete battling for pride.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Sunset here. Do they get to stop playing for the light, at least, or are there evil floodlights to play under? 'Cause someone really has to call a human rights violation at some point.

Nah, there'll be plans to do it, but they'll never get built. People on holographic comment threads will still be claiming it's a massive hoax by the money grubbing heavy-lift space elevator industry when the end comes.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

If someone wins this set, will he win the match? Or will they have to KEEP PLAYING?

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Ha. I tried to start the wave at the Apache graduation last month. But it was pretty much just me. Hee.

They stopped yesterday because of sunset, and picked up today....

Then they'll have to start walking, like in that Stephen King short story about the long walk....

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

My word. This must come under the definition of torture.*

*My view may be affected by the tennis lessons at school lasting all of half an hour, which totally did.
