Thank god for normal keyboards, good grief. I have a headache after typing those few lines, but my brother gave over his laptop to me.

Anyway, so far, a really nice trip. Very glad these people are my family.

For furture record, they can be hard to tell apart [link] but the kitten has clearer eyes and is browner [link] and MK is [link]

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

I have a small tv box full of smaller stuff to ebay: clothes, canisters, trays. Then I have a bed and a clothes dryer.

Wow, it sounds like you've gotten rid of a lot. Congrats.

I liked the Buffalo Trace

Haven't tried it yet. On the list it goes.

Several vdka & somethings in w/Sil

Good for you, sara! It sounds like you're having fun.

Maria, that hand lotion sounds awesome--do you mind sharing the brand?

elizabethW. My salon carries the line, and I love it. All-natural ingredients and non-cloying scents. Their products are handcrafted and they try to source locally in San Francisco. You can purchase the entire catalog on line if there's no local retail source: [link]

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Ugh.

I had a bad food day AGAIN today. My mom is a terrible food influence on me. The thing is, when she is here, I gain weight and she magically loses it. WTF?!

We did go to dim sum and got rockstar parking (yay Handicap parking pass!!), but Noah and Grace are a handful at dim sum. Noah did eat his weight in fried rice and drank lots of tea. Grace did... well, not.

I love the dim sum green beans and even the dim sum broccoli was A-MAY-ZING[sic]! So yum. But I overate and feel vaguely nauseated now.

Also, I found my MIA calendar. YAY.

Next week, I have a meeting in Palm Springs (yay? desert?) and then we leave for Idaho (yay? 16 hour car ride with a potty trained(??) kid and a neckbreather?) for a week. Then back home and then Grace starts summer pre-school and away we go. I'm going to be sad when mom goes, but by then we'll have respite nursing 3 nights a week.

Guh. I just finished taking this test and it was pretty flipping awful. BUT, it's over now, and no one in the whole world cares about my grade, so..... yay test is over!!

Maria, is good. I'm reminded I get lucky in having a kooky family and a people who will marry into it, and the awesome kids that come from that. Aunthood is awesome.

Like most of the drugs that started out as antipsychotics (but are now marketed for other indications), Erin, it can cause a lot of weight gain, has been linked to (due to the weight gain but also maybe other reasons) diabetes, and can cause a lot of other stuff. Apparently mostly its big effect is sedative. (I know of it from working on schizophrenia drug studies, as a bunch of the people in the studies were either taking it in comparison to our drug, or had taken it in the past)

Thanks, meara. I am taking it now for the sed affects with my current AD. We shall reevaluate after a few weeks.

We shall see if it conquers the insomnia beast!

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Happy birthday, Plei!

Today was a day. There were some lovely and yummy parts, but there was also a HUGE load of MommyFAIL! moments. Starting with my 6:30 am wake up call: "Mommy! Mommy! The tooth fairy forgot to come!"

I suck.

Thrive to spite them

Erin, I take Seroquel and have been for several years now - wait no, more like 7 years. Your doctor should be suggesting you get blood work done a regular basis to make sure everything is okay (and you aren't increasing your risk for diabetes).

I see my shrink 2x a year so I usually get blood work done once. This time he's adding a Vitamin D check.

Evidentally I'm taking a really high dose 200 mg/day so we're going to try to back me down to 100 mg and add a med to help me sleep.

It's pretty much been the key to helping me stay stable and get where I am controlling my bipolar disorder, it will be nice if I can lower the dose. Especially since in the last 10 years I've gone from needing anti anxiety meds daily, taking a mood stabilizer and Seroquel (or an antipyschotic like it) AND something to help me sleep to just the Seroquel.

I'll be really happy if I can get to 1/2 my current dose, even if it means taking meds to help me sleep.
