I tend to think of Dead Like Me, Wonderfalls, and Pushing Daisies as working through the same things
I never made it into liking Pushing Daisies. My love for Lee Pace was pretty large after Wonderfalls, but PD was too darn twee for me. And now he's gone and done
Marmaduke.
Jesus, man. After
Soldier's Girl
this is what you do with your career? Seriously?
Has
Marmaduke
opened yet? I'm hoping it does terribly, and everyone involved feels ashamed....
eta: There should be a rule - if a movie is about an animal, and promotional material feature this animal wearing sunglasses, the movie will suck.
Marmaduke
has been open two weeks. It has a 10% fresh rating at rotten tomatoes right now. So I think they know. I hope they know.
Has Marmaduke opened yet?
Looks like it came out June 4. I did not see a single television ad for it. But I haven't actually watched television in a couple weeks, so that may not be fair.
IO9 has an extended discussion of a) the fact that Marmaduke had an appalling opening and b) how it completely failed to engage any possible demographic.
I had no idea Marmaduke was a movie until DH reviewed it.
Marmaduke did not look good. But I don't even like the Marmaduke comics so I'm clearly not the audience.

I did, because I saw this one poster at a bus stop on Sheridan near my apartment....
I can't figure out who it was supposed to appeal to. Kids aren't reading the newspaper comics anymore, are they? And I have no interest in a movie about Marmaduke. Of course, I've had no interest in the comic strip since I was about eight, either.

I was so intent on ignoring the trailer every time it came on that it took me about a dozen half-watches to notice Lee Pace.
