That's what the other folks would like to use on us, apparently. Yesterday one of them stopped me on the way out after Mass to tell me how beautiful my reading had been, "just like yours always are," and the whole time I was thinking that if she knew what I actually believe she'd call me a heretic and want to know why I hadn't left already (that is, what I believe about who has control over the choices some people need to make in this short, fallible mortal life -- about the Big Eternal Source of it all she and I are in complete agreement, but according to others who've talked with her about it in more detail the first totally cancels out the second).

Called out sick today. I have a headache from hell, which may or may not be caffeine withdrawal since I haven't quit completely, and MY EAR HURTS. Last night it was tickling and itching like there was a hair stuck in the ear canal or some such, and it was driving me mad, so I did what I never do and put some alcohol on a Q-tip and tried to fix it. Bad idea. For a second I thought I'd ruptured my eardrum. Now it feels like there's a small lake crammed in my earhole. It's quite uncomfortable.

Will you get in trouble? Will people be put out by you doing it, have to cover your classes, learn less, etc? Or are students already done/subs paid for (going to earn money for it!)/they were watching videos anyway?
Meara, I might get in trouble, but I still have 12 hours of sick leave and to leave to go to yoga would mean I would use three of those. People would be put out to cover the classes. It's the end of the year and there is no learning.
Today was a shithole morning. We had to replace Grace's g-tube and it was a rush against time to get her ready for the bus after that. I've been up since 4:00 AM.
