"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Will you get in trouble? Will people be put out by you doing it, have to cover your classes, learn less, etc? Or are students already done/subs paid for (going to earn money for it!)/they were watching videos anyway?

Meara, I might get in trouble, but I still have 12 hours of sick leave and to leave to go to yoga would mean I would use three of those. People would be put out to cover the classes. It's the end of the year and there is no learning.

Today was a shithole morning. We had to replace Grace's g-tube and it was a rush against time to get her ready for the bus after that. I've been up since 4:00 AM.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Dunno if this is real. But I can't decide which is my fave - that He turns water into wine, or that He has glow-in-the-dark hands.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Happy birthday, Dylan! I hope your day is as delightful as your are.

Happy birthday, Java! I hope that you are both lauded and feted.

Our wings are not tired.

Thanks! I love sharing my day with Dylan. And who knew a Facebook wall with people coming out of the woodwork to say "Happy Birthday" could make me so happy?

Woke up at 4 (birds) and finally got to sleep again at 7:30. Taking my team to dim sum lunch (I am working today) and then dinner tonight with some friends from work. Trying not to be upset about Steve not being here.

JZ, I am sorry for your broken church heart, but so admire that it doesn't shake your faith or resolve. Hope you're able to find/create another sanctuary soon.

Happy Birthday, javachik!

Happy Birthday to Dylan!

I'm sorry that your church has taken a turn for the bad, JZ. I hope things work out with your group of fellow souls seeking kinder pastures.

Citing Medieval Law, Men of English Town Summoned to Longbow Practice

The vicar of Collingbourne Ducis, UK, discovered a law on the books that allowed her to summon the men of her village to archery practice. So she did:

Church warden Mike Cox said: “It seems she’s still entitled to do that.”

“I’ve been checking on the web and most archery experts and clergy seem to agree she is,” Mr Cox added.

“Though a lot of the laws were repealed, that particular one still stands so she’s entitled to call the men of the village, and presumably the women and children too, to archery practice.

Those who attended were rewarded with beer, barbeque, and live music to celebrate the completion of the church’s new toilet.
