Bleach can help with hair-clogged drains, but I don't know about other issues.
Speaking of which, the drain in my tub is this weird old-fashioned thing where I can't figure out how to keep hair from going down it. But then when it gets bad, I can pull the hair back out. But it's nasty, needless to say. Anyway, I was doing that last weekend with the VH1 OCD show on in other room, and laughing about how that would have been shock therapy for the one woman who can't stop washing her hands. Good times.

Do you just pour a cup of bleach into the drain, or do you have to cut it first?
Kat, not if that's flat -- it's this whole mechanism that sits out of the drain, with two little holes in the sides. I don't know.

I would just pour bleach down the drain, but that may not actually be recommended...
