Liese, I have the same love of my place, though a different climate and vintage. As long as the humidity doesn't get too high, I see how those in the 30s-40s-50s-60s managed (though not in July, which is generally unrelenting. I pity them.) My house holds temps. I open up at sunset on dry nights with the exhaust fan, shut down after my shower (to get the moisture out) and it is amazing. Again, there is still unbearable, but I love having a house built for pre-a/c. It does work!

There's another goodly storm rolling through Utah--attention folks east of here!--and now it's 60 degrees outside with strong winds. It should be blissfully cool and rainy this weekend. Next week we'll be flirting with the 90s again. So I intend to enjoy this as much as possible.
Hallelujah!! What a wonderful moment, msbelle.
Welcome to Synergon, your new corporate home and personal hell. Office as RPG. It's really quite terrifying. And oddly empowering.
I realize I've had very little contact with corporate culture. Weird.
I got 8 listings up on ebay and managed not to start bidding on anything new for myself. It is way beyond bedtime and I have to do food prep in the morning, so to bed I go.
I am having a lot of house-love today. It is so damn amazing having a redone front yard after having it be fugly and struggling with it for so long. This evening I was out front watering and a car slowed down and a woman yelled out the window "I LOVE your yard! Gorgeous!" I still can't believe the whole thing happened.
Eye-ma to your mom, Maria. I hope it goes well, whatever she decides.
Oy Maria, warm thoughts for your mother.
Ay! Perkins! I have not forgotten! I was just having mild funding issues and major timing ones. All is well, I'll be in touch soon.
Scrappy, you are going to tell us when your episode airs, right?
I went to a show tonight, and a few numbers in, realized I had gone to the "inaugural" version of this show last year, and vowed to not go anywhere near it ever again because it was SO BAD. Luckily, this year was somewhat better. Partly because I ended up sitting in the back next to two gay boys and making friends with them and snarking.
Chiming in late, but still: msbelle, Hallelujah! Kudos, mac.
sarameg, that style totally suits you. You look great! And I also covet those shoes.
eye~ma for you mom, Maria. I knew someone who had that procedure done. She said the two-weeks-facedown thing was exactly as awful as she expected, but it worked. Diabetes is an evil bastard.
Those are lovely wedding photos. You just feel happy and hopeful looking at them. And yeah, woman, you are looking seriously good.
In agreement with Liese on the pictures, sara. You look gorgeous. And I adore the fireworks photos.
Up early. Sigh.
