I'm a single undead gal trying to make it in the big city. I have to start somewhere and they're evil here. They don't judge. They've got necro-tempered glass. No burning up. A great medical plan, and who needs dental more than us?

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

YAY MAC!!!!!

sarameg, DAMN, you do look totally 40's bombshell in that dress (and hair, and shoes -- oh, lord, the SHOES!!!).

re: rewatching Buffy--I've lost my taste for the teen angst, I'm afraid.

You know, I've thought that recently. Like, OH THE DRAMA!!! But then, that's what being a teen is like, whether you fight literal monsters or not. Drama drama drama llama.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Those are lovely wedding photos. You just feel happy and hopeful looking at them. And yeah, woman, you are looking seriously good.

Because books.

His email was asking me to buy Pirates of the Caribbean costumes so I can understand the urgency.

I look forward to the day when Owen and Clovis rule the world, I have to say.

I've been thinking I could start a Buffy rewatch this summer, from the beginning. I miss it.

I'll have to share more. My Miss P and Mr.A were flowergirl and ringbearer, and the pictures they took...lord. Bliss. Pride and joy and confidence. There's a reason the couple took lots of pics with them. And then there is our Lisa, couple's fairy godmother and mom to those kids..she was just lovely.

Just not so sure how much of the albums I can share.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Oh, it`s so lovely and cool again tonight. Gotta love those desert day/night temperature swings. It`s funny because I love my house in winter when it`s all flooded in sunshine and the fire is blazing. But this summer is throwing me into a whole nother round of house likes carrots. Right now all the windows are open. The Say`s Phoebe has built her nest on our outdoor speaker again and she is happily singing her evening song. We`ve been grilling a lot to keep the heat outside and she`s started to tolerate me being out there. A passive solar house requires that I be active, closing the windows in the morning, paying attention to sun and rain. But I love it. I love the rhythms, being aware of nature. And our sunroom is truly the most comfortable room in the house four seasons, thanks to the passive cooling. This stuff works!

Liese, I have the same love of my place, though a different climate and vintage. As long as the humidity doesn't get too high, I see how those in the 30s-40s-50s-60s managed (though not in July, which is generally unrelenting. I pity them.) My house holds temps. I open up at sunset on dry nights with the exhaust fan, shut down after my shower (to get the moisture out) and it is amazing. Again, there is still unbearable, but I love having a house built for pre-a/c. It does work!

brillig

There's another goodly storm rolling through Utah--attention folks east of here!--and now it's 60 degrees outside with strong winds. It should be blissfully cool and rainy this weekend. Next week we'll be flirting with the 90s again. So I intend to enjoy this as much as possible.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Hallelujah!! What a wonderful moment, msbelle.

Welcome to Synergon, your new corporate home and personal hell. Office as RPG. It's really quite terrifying. And oddly empowering.

I realize I've had very little contact with corporate culture. Weird.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I got 8 listings up on ebay and managed not to start bidding on anything new for myself. It is way beyond bedtime and I have to do food prep in the morning, so to bed I go.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I am having a lot of house-love today. It is so damn amazing having a redone front yard after having it be fugly and struggling with it for so long. This evening I was out front watering and a car slowed down and a woman yelled out the window "I LOVE your yard! Gorgeous!" I still can't believe the whole thing happened.
