Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

It's not uncommon. And as far as I can tell, my job doesn't even HAVE Summer Fridays! Woe.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Work is asking for my home phone and my home email address. Man, I really don't feel I should share that stuff. I'm such a compartmentaliser.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Yeah. Not being owed free time is important for me to remember too. I have a conference period and I'm always peeved when I'm expected to have, you know, actual conferences.

Can we talk about the insanity that my life has become? Tonight I have an orientation at 7:00 PM. Tomorrow I have the senior awards assembly from 6:30-8:00. Then my students go to Disney all night for Grad Night. Friday we have school and then I have another meeting at 4:00.

Moreover, did you all know there is a website called Medwow where you can buy used medical supplies. It's intense. Someone is looking for a surgery table!

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

We have heard through the grapevine that there will be no more get let out early before holidays. It is annoying, but frankly, it means I will take the day off. I always hated taking the day off, and then finding out everyone else got to go home early.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

We had early release summer Fridays at my job, which I never remembered to take. I'd wander around looking for people whose input I needed on various matters, and then go, "Oh, yeah, summer Friday." Then the Powers that Be canceled them. Or so they'd have us believe. The office tends to look awfully empty around 3:30 on the nicer summer Fridays.

Because books.

Do you have to *go* to Disney night, Kat?

Someone is looking for a surgery table!

Good god. I went right to a Winchesters vs. the zombie doctor place there.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Wow, Twitter is effed today.

Who isn't??

On the flip side, I hate when work requires off-hours time. Especially when it's "optional" but not really.

You're incorrigible.

That's why I don't want them to have my home phone number. That's off-hours shit, and I'm contract. Stop it!

Yeah, see, I always thought, "But during work hours I'm here, not at home."

Until I was working from home three days a week anyway.
