I'm sorry, dad. You know I would never have tried to save River's life if I had known there was a dinner party at risk.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I do shower after going in the ocean because otherwise I feel salty for the rest of the day.

Because books.

Aw, my mom fell at the school where she works part-time today (tripped over Legos), and actually face-planted. Has an enormous shiner but no broken bones in her face, stitches in her lip and inside her mouth, and a broken hand, which she has to see the orthopedist about.

My poor mommy.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

They have showers at the beach in Florida so everybody rinses off to remove both the salt and whatever sunblock/lotion you've got on.

I grew up swimming in oceans and freshwater canals, and preferred the canals which were cool and didn't burn my eyes. But I was surprised when a friend of mine refused to swim because of live critters in the ocean and canals.

I have gotten ear infections from swimming in the canals though. Lots of amoebic infections in there. And sometimes alligators.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Oh no! Poor mommy, indeed!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I like the crusty feeling of having saltwater dry on my body. How it stings a bit after you've had sun exposure? Delightful. But whatever body of water I've been swimming in, rivers included, showers follow.

Ugh, Amy. I feel the faceplant pain. I hope she has no complications.

information libertarian

My feeling about bodies of water is: ooky squishy bottoms = bad, nice sandy or concrete bottoms = good. I like the ocean and pools, but you may keep your pond.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Critters in the water don't bother me. I've had my toes nibbled by all kinds of stuff. But this thing, [link] ?

Nuh. Uh.

Because books.

Between the lupus and the arthritis and knee replacements and back surgery, she's like a frigging miracle of modern science, albeit with no coordination. I just hope her hand is okay. I'm not sure which one she broke, or how many bones yet.

I love all water. Lake, ocean, pool, whatever. I think pools are the worst for the feeling afterwards -- that chemical yuck.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

It would probably be a bad idea for me to photocopy the definitions of "confidential" and "under seal" from a legal dictionary and send them to one of our partners, wouldn't it?
