It's not that I really think the water is dirty, but it feels dirty to me when it's still and lukewarm. I love a hot tub!
Are you people who are anti-bath because of dirt averse to swimming in oceans because fish poop in it?
Matilda and I are watching Snow White this morning and she was nattering on about it and I was half listening.
Matilda:
[blah blah blah]...
hairdo.
Me: Hairdo?
Matilda: Hairdude. That means "silly." The Prince is a Hairdude.
Later on at the climactic chase scene...
Matilda:
[pointing at the vultures]
Those birds want to help Snow White. They want to eat up the Witch.
Me: I don't think they want to help Snow White. I think they just want to eat anybody up that dies.
Matilda: No, they want to help Snow White. They're going to eat up the Witch. But not her eyes. Or her belly. Just her shirt. And her hat.

A shower afterward takes care of piscine poo.
Not at first, anyway. And by the time it is, bathtime is over!
Not at after, either! Der. I shower before I bathe, and I keep hot water trickling in the whole time. Tada. Clean and hot.
I'm anti-bath because I don't like being in water. If I want to relax, give me a recliner or something.
I don't usually take a bath when I'm dirty. I use the shower to get clean. Baths are for bombs, bubbles, salts, oils, masks, wine, books, music through headphones and candles.

If I were to immerse myself in a natural body of water (I can't swim), I would take a shower afterward. "Fish poop" isn't what comes to mind so much as "bacteria". And you know, fish aren't the only ones who poop, and die, in it. You don't know what's upstream from you, or at the bottom.

And that, too.
Yeah, ita's way is the Japanese way. I tried to get them to put a floor drain in my bathroom with the tub for this purpose. You're supposed to wash off (with a bucket! but okay, shower is acceptable) and then get in, clean, to clean water that is near boiling temperatures. I mean literally; a proper furo is wood fired. You soak in that, and it stays hot.
And to further the point about hygiene weirdness, multiple people can use the furo because it's clean. Because you washed first.
