Right. Piano. Because that's what we used to kill that big demon that one time. No, wait. That was a rocket launcher.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Oh God.

Check out the latest TeeFury design. Clever, right?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Put in the Round Robin doc, maybe?

Oh yeah, I should have done that, too.

Trust my rage

And I had to just learn to not let myself get angry or emotionally engaged with that frustration and slow down and look him in the face and see him as a person.

This has been a huge parenting lesson for me. I'm not actually a yeller, but I have found that raising my voice usually gets results - because they are shocked and scared. But a while back, Frisco started saying "that scared me" if/when I raised my voice. Which led me to ponder that I don't want him scared. So while I was never much of a yeller to begin with, I'm even less so now.

I do find myself talking a lot about "tone of voice" and "don't contradict" and so on. One thing I picked up from my mom (who is visiting this week) is to model for Ellie the tone of voice that I want, and then no move forward until she does it. It seems to be working for us and I like it because it's very clear to her what I want from her.

IOparentingN, Frisco has been doing great with potty training since we started letting him pee off the deck in our backyard. He loves it and has even started taking his diaper off to pee.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Outlook/Exchange, I hate you. Why can I not cancel a meeting properly? Or why does my boss not get them cancelled properly and I look like a doofus? Also, why do I stop being able to speak English when he asks me about it?

Sheesh.

AND someone else didn't get the cancellation. CURSE YOU TO THE HEAVENS!!!

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I think all your cancellations are going to us. My boss keeps having entire series of repeating meetings cancelled whenever she tries to change any detail.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Prenting is hard. Period. Each kid is different and each situation needs its own special handling. I find I give myself time outs more than anything. Expecially now that my kids are older.

I feel like a dork asking, cause I feel like I should know. Are there any other divorced moms with minor kids? I know we have a dad - David - but the question I have is more for a female point of view.

New board game?

Have people never heard of Snakes and Ladders? That's sad.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I was a kid of a single mom.... but I can't think of any other single moms of minor children. Maybe they are too busy for the board!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Have people never heard of Snakes and Ladders? That's sad.

On this side of the ocean it's Chutes and Ladders, which could be part of the problem.
