Most hotels won't charge you extra for a kid unless you need a cot or a crib. (The online reservation systems will count her as an extra person, but if you tell them on the phone that she's five they'll waive the fee.)

You can probably tell I don't travel much. Or at all, really.
Meh. I've booked, and I didn't have to deal with the phone, so it is what it is. You'd think online systems would be smart enough to recognize that, considering they ask her age specifically to account for that.
(And the place we got has really good reviews. Parking costs are insane, but there's public parking that's half the price on the same block, so we'll avoid the valet charges and just park there.)
