Here's my current first world problem -- I just found out that a hotel around the corner from my house apparently has an awesome roof top pool. But it's only open to the public on weekdays, and only if you pay $40. Or $20 after 3pm. Pfui. Now I'm going to scheme on how to sneak in, of course.... And/or get someone I know to stay there!

Here's an interesting photo gallery of Chicago high-rise balconies (both good and bad), including Aqua.
The Aqua is a beautiful building. It reminds me of Gaudi's work.
Oh msbelle, another hurdle down. Good luck on composing the letter.

Jesse, which hotel?
The Colonnade.
I know someone who lives at Marina City, and she just loves being in such an iconic building (its corncob buildings are #10 on that photo gallery). She's lived there for decades now, and one of her favorite things about the unit is the balcony.
