Now, I can hold a note for a long time...actually I can hold a note forever. But eventually that's just noise. It's the change we're listening for. The note coming after, and the one after that. That's what makes it music.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Flight delay!

So I dilly dallyed around, and then got in line for security. It was huge! But I happened to know, (since I'd been directed there for power outlets, thank you terminal maps) that the security line on the other side was minimal. So I hoofed it down there, knowing that I'd have to walk all the way around to my gate, but I had plenty of time.

Found the gate, went looking for more power outlets, and decided to buy Starbucks before I sat down. Whereupon I discovered that my gate had changed to the other end. So then I walked all the way back to where I'd started, but this time with coffee in my hand.

Then on arrival, I discovered that the flight is having mechanical problems in Puerto Vallerta and it's going to take a couple of hours more than planned. Which puts my rental car in question, so we'll see what happens with that.

Anyway, life could be much worse. I did in fact find another outlet and I have my soy pumpkin latte.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I just don't want to know what was in it.

Or who...

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I am disproportionately irritated at people who complain about Zarmina. Would they prefer it be named Cathy? WTF?

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Is it Zahr-MEEN-uh? Once I heard it pronounced, I think I'd be fine.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I had to google Zarmina, but now I am prepared to be irritated. What complaints do people make?

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I went to buy 50% off Halloween things, but everything I chose was not 50% off. GRRR.

Now I am changed for the mac school event. I delivered the round brownies that I am sure will get labeled cupcakes, whatev.

I sent off a nastygram to my mortgage company asking why if the closing was last week and I already have my pay out are they still showing my mortgage as in effect and will a balance. DOES NOT! mark that paid. Maybe I will call them now and discuss it with them in terms of getting a HELoC on the TX house since I cannot get a cash-out mortgage on it.

I've read a lot of people complaining that it's a stupid weird name. It's a planet, people. Named after a woman. It's not like there's a huge amount of precedent.

Oh, god! I didn't make my phone call! I suck.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Still. How is it pronounced?

Huh. People are weird. It's not like he stuck a bunch of apostrophes in it or took all the vowels out.

Eta: I'm hearing it the way you speculated, Daisy. In my head, because I've only seen it in print, but I'll go with that until told differently.

So I cannot get a mortgage or a home equity loan because I have been self-employed for less than 2 years. Getting a part-time job will not help either situations, but if I got a full-time job I could get a HEL in possibly 1 day after employment and a mortgage in possibly 2 weeks. Full-time employment is not any more secure than the other 2. makes no sense. F them, I am going to make this work, because I do not want a full-time job yet.
