It's like, in the middle of all this, I'm paranoid that you'll think I don't like poetry.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

After seeing some great hula at a work event a few years ago, I'm totally into it.

I am also into the fact that my father took hula lessons when he lived in Hawaii as a boy.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

My sister tells me that we're invited to our FTM cousin's wedding in January. He's not in person out to everyone yet (it's been years, but I haven't seen him since the transition, but I've realised that at least partially he's completely male to me now, which is weird), so there's major opportunity for drama. I mean, above and beyond our family and their normal drama.

Mostly I just want a new dress.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

For eyeliner, I also really like the Urban Decay 24/7. But, I have found something that works even better for me and is cheaper. The Mally eyeliners at QVC. Not as many colors, but that's okay for me as I usually wear a purple, brown, or charcoal color. [link]

Her mascara is the only mascara I can wear, too.

I have really oily eyelids and allergy issues and her stuff actually stays put all day.

I'm getting the pig!

maybe we can hit Park Meadows Sunday after a cruise through the Farmer's Market (didn't go last week and I feel like I missed out).

I'm game - we can figure out a time tonight. Oh, and I'm bringing my huge umbrella just in case it's still raining later.

Is anyone else watching Raising Hope? I'm trying to find one person at work that Gets It when I say "no conundrum!" instead of "no problem!". *pout*

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I do not want to go search the interwebs for sites for Leise (because I will Hulk smash), but I will say this - there has to be Japanese sites. When I wanted to to see the coolest in shiny shiny girly girly nail, make-up, and shiny jewelry things I would go to the Japanese stores in NYC. ok, or some of the Korean shops since I used to work right there.

ION - I am using some Capsaicin stuff for my arthritis and OW I must have a ton of small scratches on that hand from weeding. I think I am going to have to take another shower to get it off unless it eases soon.

The Mally eyeliners at QVC.

I've tried them! Sadly, they didn't work for me. I'm glad they work for you, though!

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I'm watching Raising Hope. I knew from the moment they unveiled Virginia's knick-knack hoard in the garage that Maw-Maw's jenga skills were going to come into play .

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

In 1950, the United States was fifth among the leading industrialized nations with respect to female life expectancy at birth, surpassed only by Sweden, Norway, Australia, and the Netherlands. The last available measure of female life expectancy had the United States ranked at forty-sixth in the world. As of September 23, 2010, the United States ranked forty-ninth for both male and female life expectancy combined.

Just to underscore the rapidity of the decline, as recently as 1999, the U.S. was ranked by the World Health Organization as 24th in life expectancy. It's now 49th. There are other similarly potent indicators. In 2009, the National Center for Health Statistics ranked the U.S. in 30th place in global infant mortality rates. Out of 20 "rich countries" measured by UNICEF, the U.S. ranks 19th in "child well-being." Out of 33 nations measured by the OECD, the U.S. ranks 27th for student math literacy and 22nd for student science literacy. In 2009, the World Economic Forum ranked 133 nations in terms of "soundness" of their banks, and the U.S. was ranked in 108th place, just behind Tanzania and just ahead of Venezuela.
