I think circle jerk is equally work-inappropriate. But also not at all the same thing! (If that was what you were implying. If not, please disregard.) I mean, a circle jerk is nice for everyone involved, right?

I would be far more comfortable saying clusterfuck than circle jerk at work. I think because in usage it's much further removed from any sexual connotation.

Circle jerk is, I think, more in the way of being purposefully indolent (and presumably nice for everyone), when one should be busy; whereas clusterfuck is more that everyone is getting in each other's way of being productive (on purpose or by accident)and very rarely is pleasure involved.

Got CJ's report card today. A's and B's in everything but French which was a C. Just below the mark for honor roll - need a 3.5 with no C's in work habits - he has a 3.2 with one C. Still VERY happy with his work. He got a solid B in Algebra after stuggling so much last year.
I also just saw a FB update from my cousin J. The doc approved the removal of her hard brace. I assume she will move into a soft brace for a while, but after having NO movement for a couple of months, I know she was looking forward to the soft brace.

I know, Megan. His teacher says he is doing well, but she is grading hard so that her students will be ready for French at the high school next year. His main struggle is with spelling (made worse by crappy hand writing).
