Oh and I'd like to request some health~ma for my cousin J tomorrow. She returns for a neuro follow-up and should get an eta on when she can move out of the hard neck brace that she has been in since the accident a couple of months ago. She would be into a soft brace for a while, but that will allow a bit of motion.
So anybody else's first thought on reading this "Namaste, motherfucker!"?
Exactly what I thought.
Junior Assistant Cruise Director.
zuisa, congrats! You're Julie the Cruise Director!
Congrats on the money, Suzi! and ~ma to your cousin.
So here's something weird. There's a rumor going around in my hometown that I'm moving back to live in the old farmhouse. This rumor was apparently started by a relative of the guy who's buying the house, which makes it even weirder. When we go back in November (to sign the contract! yay), I'm tempted to buy towels and a toaster in the local Dollar Store. Just to mess with them.
Sounds great zuisa. You'll have to let us know when you get told which ship you'll be on!
That's great, zuisa. A friend of mine works for Princess in Alaska and she loves it.
Suzi, you should be giddy! That's awesome, and all the more so since you went after it and made it happen.
Congrats on all the good job news!
Completely unrelated, apparently Catholics in Belguim are getting themselves de-baptized in response to the priest abuse scandals.

Last year, someone at my (UU) church had a ceremony of defection from the Catholic church, which was her childhood church. I was really impressed that a Catholic chaplain was part of the ceremony, which was lovely and respectful to everyone involved.
An awesome t-shirt that's a mashup between Calvin and Hobbes and Han Solo and Chewbacca....
I don't think I've ever before been kilt ded of the cute by a t-shirt design, but that one did it. DED NOW. Please bury me in one of those shirts.

Me too! I wrote a letter to the bishop of the parish I was christened in asking to be excommunicated or whatever it is they do, and someone (not him, I don't think), wrote back saying there'd be prayers said for me. Not really what I'd asked for.
