I asked my friend who was a sous chef in a high end restaurant about sending meat back if it's not cooked to order and he said, in his experience, chefs have no problem with this. It's expected.

Dropping Matilda off this morning was completely uneventful.
Now I'm sorry I lost sleep over imagined transition issues for her changing school.
Also, for some reason when they calculated our payment they added on some extra discount, so we're paying even less than already cheap amount they'd figured.
Public School: they're just giving it away.
And, you know what? I endorse this socialist practice.

If something's egregiously wrong, I'll send it back, but I have done this maybe three times. And I am nice. It's not the waiter's fault that the cook got it wrong.
And yes, ita, as a former waitperson, someone who asked me to bring out a selection of spices would have politely have been told that was not an option. And it would have pissed me off. Has she ever been to France and done that? I really wonder what the reaction would be?
Granted, I didn't work at some schmancy restaurant, but if you are that particular about your food's spicing, you should probably cook at home.

Being in France wouldn't stop her. She doesn't want to pay for food she doesn't like. She's pretty adamant about that. If cash is coming out of her pocket, she wants to find a way to make it tasty.
