Shit's all sorts of different now.

OH COLLAR!!

Ew ew ew.

In order to get THAT out of my brain, I share with you how some 6 year olds validated my career choice in a way that no adult ever could.

Little boy in my class "Miss Aimee, you're a good teacher and I think you should stay a good teacher with us." and then hugged me. And a couple of other kids heard him - in particular one girl who is so soft-spoken and just lovely and I adore her - said, "I think you're a good teaher too and we love you." Then, being 6 year olds and not wanting to be left out of anything, about 5 more repeated it and then all of them hugged me. As soon as I got them separated into their story time groups, I went out in to the hallway to compose myself cause I was crying.

Now granted, I'm totally PMS-ing right now, but damn that felt good. I've finally found something I'm good at and that I love.

Hey Buffistas - thanks for being Buffistas and sticking around during the shitty jobs I've had over the past 8 years. Seriously.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That's wonderful, Aims.

an overblown libretto and a sumptuous score/ could never contain the contradictions I adore

Oh, now you're making me cry.

Partly that is because I am no longer working at the school where I'd been for the last five years (due to shittiness on the part of the guy who runs the after-school program) and I really miss my kids.

...look, I said I was having a rough couple of weeks.

You should get yourself a Girl Scout troop. You'd love it.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Many good thoughts to everyone with bad stuff happening.

Yes. This.

And Aimee, you made me tear up. So awesome.

Karate tournament is Saturday. Nerves are starting to pick up and my body is so sore from trying to get back into training regularly. Forms, sparring, and then a Master's Seminar. CJ is doing forms, weapons, sparring, demo team, and the Master's Seminar. We will be there from 8am until ummm....the Seminar is supposed to start at 5pm, but typically the day runs long, so who knows how late we will be there.

Nice, Aims!

..I'm not sure who was more chagrined: me, out supervising Loki exploring because he WHINED SO MUCH (I've asked a neighbor about possessing her failed halter and leash) and felt like a dork or my neighbor's new boytoy who clearly parallel parks as bad as I do, right in front of me, arriving at her house at nearly 11. I think we're even, though he probably gets the better deal.

Can you do that if you were never a Girl Scout?

Anyway, I work at a toy store now, which means I get to see my kids from my old job occasionally, and also a lot of really cute babies and toddlers. I'm just not sure I'm actually that good a fit for retail.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

I had to kill a spider that climbed out of the CSA lettuce bag as I was putting away stuff. I was very mature about it. I didn't shriek or run around the kitchen flailing my hands, but somehow I doubt I'll show that kind of restraint if I find another one.

I made a ton of cauliflower curry. It was delish, but my left hand is still burning from slicing serrano chiles. You would think I would learn and buy gloves, but no.

Yeppers. It's totally awesome and you could pick an age range - littles or older girls - and it looks awesome on resumes and stuff.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

OMG. You know when you forget that changing the angle you're looking at the TV from won't change what you can actually see? Severe Boris Kodjoe alert.

I hear Undercovers is having ratings problems. Sadface.
